SignUp Now!This answer is a bit offensive. Why would you just assume that it's nothing but "gay people" buying his jersey? If 5 million from the gay population buy his jersey at $50 a pop, that nets the NFL & St. Louis Rams $250,000,000.
That's not what he means. He's talking about the extra number of jerseys that might be sold. This answer is a bit offensive. Why would you just assume that it's nothing but "gay people" buying his jersey?
Good point. . . . .because we generally see such a huge run on 7th round picks having their jerseys sell out. . .This answer is a bit offensive. Why would you just assume that it's nothing but "gay people" buying his jersey?
I don't think you know what PC means if you think I was being PC.I appreciated the comments from the NFL folks/FOB. . . .but the critisim of Davis not going across the middle is a bit unfair since our play caller seemed to think passing routes between the hash marks were toxic. . . though.in fairness. . .he was dealing with a weak armed QB. Still we seemed bent on handicapping ourselves by not using the entire field.
Coleman's offerings are becoming "must reads". . .appreciate the concise detail. . .and real football content.. .

A very offensive comment by McPaul . ..I appreciate the PC police jumping on top of it. . . ..I for one applaud the NFL for making sure "new markets" were opened up.

My point is we have no evidence of who is buying his jersey and it's a bit naive and short sighted to assume it's nothing but 5 million gays buying them.
That's not trying to be PC--that's pointing out a flaw in the logic.
By Friday at 5 p.m., some 20 hours after the Browns traded up to No. 22 to take quarterback Johnny Manziel, the team's ticket office sold more than 2,300 season tickets. So it's no surprise that he also has the league's top-selling rookie jersey, according to the NFL (viaOutsports.com).
Second behind Johnny Football: Michael Sam (7th round, 249 overall), the NFL's first openly gay player. He's followed by defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (first round, first overall), and quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater (first round, 32nd overall) and Blake Bortles (first round, third overall).
"This is unprecedented for a Day 3 pick, let alone a seventh round pick, to crack the top five rookies sold following Draft weekend," NFL spokesperson Joanna Hunter said.
That article doesn't state that 5 million gays are the ones buying his jersey.LOL. . .
Good point. . . Michael Sam's is Johnny Football like. ...
You might need to express your PC outrage to CBS sports as well . ..their commentary:

PS, McPaul did not say "only gay people" would buy the jersey's (nice strawman). . .he said if 5 million gays bought them it generated $250,000,000 in revenue from one community alone. . .. .
