As disappointed as we are about not winning today, I must admit I did not believe we would be in the position to play in the 2nd round this year.

With everyone coming back with another year of experience, maturity and the additions of Barnett & Turner, we should have a very salty team going into next year.

Any news on Croaker over the past week?

247 was saying his transfer was a "real possibility," which definitely sounds horrible.

Honestly, he probably should transfer because it's the best thing for him. 1) To get closer to his kid and 2) I just don't think he's going to see many minutes at Texas in the next few years. With Walker, Holland, Felix, Yancy, and Barnett he's going to have a difficult time finding minutes. If Texas gets Turner he's going to see even fewer minutes as Holmes will play a little bit more on the wing. I hate losing guys, but honestly it's probably a good move for him to transfer. I hope he makes the best decision for himself though, and if that's staying at Texas I'm all for it.

I agree.

Croaker needs to transfer to USF to be closer to his baby son. Good luck to him. It's about priorities.

After watching the tournament over the past few days I've come to one conclusion. There really isn't much disparity between these teams. 8 and 9 seeds aren't far off from the 1 seeds. Anybody can win the tournament IMO. Which is good news for Texas. There really isn't much ground to be made up. I only see 2 or 3 dominant teams this year, and they all have issues. College basketball is about as wide open as any sport I've ever seen. If Texas can develop and add a little talent, the door is wide open.

Hey McPhaul! Did I miss something? You said, "... with another year of experience, maturity and the additions of Barnett & Turner ... ". I know that you have stated that you are pretty certain that Turner is a strong lean to Texas. Is that what you meant, or have you heard something that indicates that he is definitely coming to Texas for certain?

Some rumors that Danuel House, 6-7 SG/SF from UH could be a possible transfer candidate. Will be something to watch.

I would be shocked if UH allowed him to transfer to Texas. Would think we'd be one of the schools they'd block.

Where you hearing these rumors? Maybe that's who that one guy was talking about in the other thread where we were all guessing.

Our boy Shaunsters has been saying Turner is a lock to Texas for the last 4 months. House will transfer if Dickey is gone at UH next season.

Rumors came from Inside Texas. Saying Turner is a lock and House is a possible transfer candidate.
Great thanks! He's 6-7 and listed as a small forward. Interested to go see his film and determine if he's more of an on the low block type of player or wing. If Texas is going after House it signals something to me. Texas knows they need to get bigger on the wings. House and Barnett are the types of players you have to have in order to beat teams like Michigan.

Ole Ricky is a genius. He has the worst season, record wise, of his 16 year career last season. He didn't make the tournament and should have been fired. Hell no, he makes the tournament this season, and now he's safe? Only Barnes could have his worst two teams of his 16 seasons in 2013 and 2012, then follow that with a 10 loss season, which would rank as his 6th worst, and be drawing universal praise?

One other little tidbit. In 16 years at Texas, and counting 15 Tournament bids, he has beaten one team that is ranked higher than his team. 34 tournament games and one win over a team ranked higher. If you are wondering, that school is Mississippi State.

Who you going to get to replace him? Give me a legit name we have a chance with, that's better then Barnes.

I heard that the IT guys are saying house is a legit 6-5 not 6-7 not that it matters that much. He would have to sit next year if we were able to get him... No reason for Croaker to stay IMO. He will definitely have trouble finding minutes next year.

I never guarantee a 17 year old will 100% do something but Texas is in a favorable position with Myles. I like Croaker a lot, but I would understand him transferring.

No point in even looking. It ain't gonna happen. Ole Ricky is staying and we are gonna have to endure the indignity of at least a couple or so or more good years with him, no matter what the grinches say. Let's at least have the common decency to wait until the next horrific downward spiral. At least by then Ole Ricky will be one step closer to being old and feeble. THEN, we can string up Ole Ricky, tar and feather him, and run him out of town on a rail.

Chris, I know that Croaker has a child back in Florida and I have read smoke signals that seem to indicate that he is the prime suspect from our existing roster to transfer out. Following those smoke signals I only read good things that he has said about being here. Has something been reported that I have missed or are people assuming that some combination of the following factors will create a situation where he will leave - his being from Florida, having a kid there and not here, his not playing as much this season as expected with probability of Texas playing bigger next year thereby further limiting his potential minutes? Seems to me that he is maybe the most physically gifted of the freshman guards. If he stays, could he not make a leap between year one and two? I know that there are only so many minutes to go around, but ... inquiring minds, early in the morning, want to know!

The other thing with Croaker. IMO Croaker, Walker, Yancy and Holland are similar. Maybe not skill set wise, but in terms of size. We need somebody at that position who is bigger/more physical. All those guys are the same mold. Which is why I think Barnett is going to see some minutes the day he steps on campus. It would be one thing if Croaker offered something different from the other guys. Having four wings on the team that don't give you different looks is a major problem (we saw that today with Michigan). It's alright to have a couple guys at the position who are a little undersized, but you've got have some size out there or teams like Michigan will eat you a live.
