Harbaugh

Briles

Mora jr.

In that order

If it were not for Fisher coaching in the MNC, he would would looked at as a more viable candidate.

Texas does not want to wait that long to name the next HC. Which confuses me b/c Harbaugh could be tied up for an extensive time too?

Just can't see Harbaugh as a viable option. I'd be happy with either of the other 2, probably Mora Jr over Briles for me though.

Any chance Patterson surprises everyone with someone who has not been mentioned yet?

Am I suppose to root for my 49ers to lose then? Longhorns > 49ers for me.

Based on the current NFL playoff picture, the soonest the 49ers could be out of the playoffs would be the Wild Card Round (Jan 4-5), which is a day or two before the BCS National Championship Game. Does that mean Malzhan is out of the picture too?

Just as Biles has signed an extension, I don't understand why we wouldn't try Mahlzan. I'm not too excited about Mora. There has to be other candidates out there who Texas would consider over him.

In all honesty, Harbaugh is worth waiting for no matter what. It seems silly to pare down your pool of elite options based on availability date. This recruiting class was always going to be underwhelming. You'd think a superstar hire could flip a few notable commitments even if they only had a couple of weeks to do so.

Why no interest in Malzahn? Can't just be the bat-crap crazy wife? He is more of a sure thing than Mora Jr. In my eyes.

The more I think about it, the more I think Briles needs to be the guy. I just do not see us waiting long enough for one of the NFL guys or title game coaches. Meyer isn't coming. I doubt Mora would considering he just passed on his alma mater a couple of weeks ago. Once you eliminate those names Briles is pretty much the best one standing.

mora jr is what i expect, not in the least bit what i want.

i do not see how this is complicated.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

who gives a shit where or what they are currently doing.

go to each one with the same package.

8.5 with incentives... yes or no?

#1 says no, then to #2, etc...

if you get to #5 and still no coach.

go back to #1

9 mm with incentives... yes or no?

in this day and age you simply cant do a meh hire. not this University and certainly not with the resources that are available.

my guess is that this decision will be over thought.

This is a little out of the box, but how about Bobby Petrino. All he has done in college is win. He can recruit like none other. Yes, he is a major slimeball, but he would win like no other in Texas. He is like a John Calipari in basketball. Kentucky felt that they could give him the reigns to their program and he has produced. Maybe someone like Petrino may be worth a look
