Common Man Predictions – Week 5

I've been trying to get out of the prediction business but here we go.

Quinn comes back. Reminds us all how good he is. He throws 3 TDs. Arch comes in and throws 2 CDs. They need to let Trey throw more and he gets 1. Defense is stout.

Texas rolls. Texas 58 Miss St 6

Only other prediction I'll make is that Alabama beats Georgia even though I'd prefer Georgia to win.

I thiink Bama beats Georgia, too. Georgia is very talented, no doubt. But injuries are costing them. Their star OL is out, for the season I think.

Stetson or whatever his name is is pretty good. I'll give him that. But his go-to weapons are not what they were last year.

Specific Texas Predictions of the week:

On offense, we can pick our poison, Miss St can't stop the rush or the pass this year. Their top safety and leader in tackles is likely out (listed as Questionable). With our injury problems at RB, I think Jaydon Blue gets some heavy usage once again with the ball being spread widely to our pass catchers:
- Jaydon Blue goes over 150 yards total
- We break our first long run for a touchdown
- 10 or more players log a catch

Their offense was already terrible and now they are forced to turn to a freshmen QB after losing Blake Shappen to injury. O-line isn't good at protecting or blocking in the run game.
- 2 interceptions
- 4 sacks
- Less than 250 yards offense and single digit points

Score prediction: 52-6

Offense played out quite a bit different than expected. We did have some of our longest runs today but none went for 6 (well Bonds was a 26 yard run actually). 10 players did log a catch

No interceptions today but two strip sacks to go along with 6 total. They totaled 294 yards, 50 rushing attempts to 150 yards. They had some success at times but nothing quite consistent enough.

And the winners are . . . .

First place due to closer tiebreaker score – UTFish who had three misses. His score prediction was 45-10

Tied for second and knocked out of first place with the tiebreaker was Bruise Lee who had three misses and called for a 55-0 score, and, NEOklaHorn who also had three misses and predicted 63-6

Elsewhere:
Tied for third
Dssi – 4 misses
SHA – 4 misses
Texbound – 4 misses
Baron – 4 misses
PTA – 4 misses

And tied for 4th was:
Hook'em Orb with 5 misses
Generalismo Hooker – 5 misses
ChapalaHorn – 5 misses

Congratulations to @UTfish for having the top predictions this week!
