Common Man Prediction Thread – UT vs Cowboy aggy

You'll find no greater respect for Oklahoma State's football team than myself. They are very, very good. However, they took one on the chin to TCU last week so I would imagine the alarms are going off all over that program right now. A 2-loss OSU is not likely to be in the championship game, depending. So their back is against the wall.

So is ours. We sit with the same 1-loss situation.

I think this is a staunch challenge for Sark and staff and also this team. We are not good on the road. But we better get that way fast.

We will have to play our best game of the year to pull off the upset. Better than Bama. Better than OU. And we'll have to do it on the road.

Oklahoma State 36

Texas 31

Their defense is terrible. Sanders is hurt and only completing about 50% of his passes.

If Texas plays well this is a two score win.

Texas is probably going to be favored in every game they play from here on out. If they can win this game on the road and win it convincingly then the narrative changes, most on here including me have gotten so used to their failures that we have grown to expect that from them. This team and this program is different, we have seen when they play a darn near perfect game(OU), we have seen them play a really crappy game (TT) and we just saw them play not so well but walk away a winner.

Its time for Texas to play a good solid game and beat a team they should beat, on the road

I don't think they've passed the "win a big game on the road" test yet.

We suck until we don't, but we're on the road to not sucking. When our QB has more experience than theirs, I think that gives us a big edge offensively. Defensively, I'm just not sure we could stop Sanders but with him out, make Gundy Jr beat us with the pass.

Texas: 45

OSU: 24

I expect this to be a shootout regardless of who plays QB for Okie lite. Their secondary sucks more than ours and if last week is any indication their rushing defense is not good either. That should overcome our penchant for allowing a Heisman type game for opposing QB's.

Texas 48

OSU 38

I truly think this is a big key – that, and getting to the QB. Sanders is only completing 50% of his passes. Ding him up again and prepare for INTs.

Did anyone mention that we're their HOMECOMING GAME?

I think our offense should come out and be better this week. One, OSU has a pretty bad defense this year which is a bit surprising as that is usually a strength. The run game has seemed to turn a corner and if Ewers and the WRs (Cain) bring their A game, I don't think OSU stops us too much.

I trust our run defense to continue to do their thing. Sanders or Gundy don't scare me much as passers and even if we continue our style of allowing short completions, I'm not sure either can sustain the long drives like the Tech and Iowa State QBs did. Iowa State pulled off some ridiculous 3rd down conversions that are partially things our D can improve on but also just some really nice throws and catches that are hard to replicate. Sanders as a run threat is a bit scary but if injured, I invite him to run a few times and get popped.

My optimistic fan take:

UT - 42

OSU - 24 (17 if Gundy plays)

I hate it when the opposition just dinks and dunks its way down the field against the Horns D.

Good God man!....Central Mich put 40 on them in Stillwater! They can donk and dunk all they want.....trying to keep up!

HELLO, that's kinda what Sark does, except we have guys that can take a simple swing pass out of the backfield to the house on any given play, or any receiver that can take a simple slant all the way home, QE has exceptional feel for the touch pass, might throw it better than anyone in the country
