For the past two years, I've had a really good feeling about this game. Year 1 we should have won and did beat them all over the field. Year 2 we beat them.

I'm not feeling it this year. Offensively, we're way better off than we were last year when we just weren't a good offense. But defensively, we haven't been able to stop an offense not named UTEP. We didn't beat Notre Dame as much as we outscored them.

Given the uncertainty in the secondary that we currently have, and Baker Mayfield's favorable comparison to any QB we've faced thus far, I have real reservations about this game. And whenever Mayfield wants, he's got two way better than average tailbacks to turn to.

We will have to play way beyond the way we've played at any point this season. It would need to be a remarkable turnaround. Not a miracle. But dominating OU's offense, getting three-and-outs, would be a surprise, no?

I hate to pick against the Horns. But with the way my luck has gone so far this season picking these things, I might be doing Texas a favor here. lol

I think Charlie will have the team playing with a lot of emotion with an us against the world attitude which he seems to thrive on in desperate times, but not sure that will be enough to secure a victory on Saturday.  I actually think our offense will struggle this game and Buechele will be running for his life as OU will be bringing all kinds of pressure on the young freshman.  I see the score as OU 38  Texas 14.

Texas really needs to slow this game down and pound the ball to keep the defense off the field but that's going to hinge on how healthy Foreman is. Also, look for the 18-wheeler package to add some pass option - teams are starting to crowd the line when Swoopes is in. A healthy Foreman with a mix of over-the-top passes from Swoopes might keep this game close. But that's probably wishful thinking. I think it's going to be 3 straight double-digit losses for the 'Horns (and yes I'm counting Cal even if the actual final score doesn't reflect simply because of a bonehead play). OU 45, Texas 20

Past two games I've predicted us to win and we lost. I'm going to switch things up a bit... OU 42, UT 31

Land Thieves 45 - Good Guys 24

Stoops twists the dagger as Baker Mayfield dances on the defense in his crimson leotard.

One trend I've seen from this team: they win games they shouldn't and lose games they should win. That, and I hate picking against my Horns. With our luck, they will beat OU and lose to ISU the following week.

Not sure if this is a prediction or a dream, but I'm looking for a W of any type, 2-0 or 78-77, it doesnt matter. Just get a W. After the game, the players go to pick up Charlie and he tells them to get their hands off of him because he's planning on winning a lot more of these, so get used to it (something to that effect). Charlie needs to show some swagger and have the team believing in themselves. He's a nice guy, but you know what they say about that... Just win, baby!

kind of reminds me of the Peter Gardere and Cash Brothers era, should never have one some of those games, but somehow did. I think Charley will be dialing up the blitz and going with more man.  We'll get burned by it a few times.  Gilbert will show us things we've never seen before.  Trying to stay overly optimistic TEXAS 42 OU 40.

with only 1/2 the smash bros and a 75% buechele, our offense is going to take a hit this weekend just like in the 2nd half last week.  that means we don't outscore anyone.  i hope gilbert adds to the offense playbook because it's going to need it.

our defense hasn't shown anything giving up 47, 50 (really 57), 49 points.

Thats a crock of bullshit.

Last year i didnt expect us to win and you said something like you always expect to win against those POS. We will win 28-17

Christ, we are going to show up. Nothing is more motivating to a longhorn than to beat the shit out of a thief.
