Official News Release
AUSTIN, Texas -- Four Texas football players have undergone successful post-season surgeries, Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd said on Friday.
Wide receiver Bryant Jackson (foot) underwent surgery on Dec. 31; LB Dalton Santos (hip) and LB Timothy Cole (hip) both underwent surgery on Jan. 7; and DT Paul Boyette, Jr. (shoulder) had surgery on Jan. 8.
Santos and Cole are expected back in time for spring practice, while Jackson and Boyette will miss spring practice but should be released in time for summer workouts. Others who will miss spring practice include DB Sheroid Evans (knee), RB Johnathan Gray (Achilles), LB Jordan Hicks (Achilles) and LB Tevin Jackson (knee).
In addition, due to a recurring shoulder injury, the medical staff has advised OT Josh Cochran to discontinue playing football. He will forego his senior season and end his football career. Cochran played in 30 career games with the Longhorns, including 23 starts. He had started the last 19 games prior to his injury.
