SignUp Now!I believe the Mayweather donation was fake news. The Alexander donation is legit though. The support is coming in from all directions and it has been fanstastic to see.Looks like Aaron is going to be fine. He is of course still surrounded by water and can't get anywhere via car, but he was able to walk to a convenience store today and pick some things up. He posted some pictures on FB today. Just unbelievable what they're going through.
I have heard that Mayweather has donated $200 million to Houston relief. The owner of the Rockets has donated $10 million.
Don't forget about our friends down in the Rockport, Refugio, Port Aransas areas as those town were totally devastated and most of the attention seems to have been focused on Houston for the past few days.
JJ Watt did a fundraiser and raised $3 million in less than a day as well.Looks like Aaron is going to be fine. I understand the "disbelief" and "angst" regarding the "denial" of the Astro's request, especially considering the situation. But it's not as "bad' as it's being reported. The Rangers agreed to host the Houston series in Arlington. And even agreed to be the visiting team. They just didn't want to travel to Houston in late September which would give them 4 consecutive away series during the last month of the season while they're making their playoff push. It also affects Rangers ticket holders. I'm not really trying to defend them because I think they should have bitten the bullet. But there is more to the story than just "no". I hope this makes sense........and on a slightly different note.....How about those Rangers?...They refused the Astros request to trade their home games in September with the Astros, forcing the Astros to play their "home games with the Rangers in Tampa....totally classless move when you consider Herman inviting UH to Austin to use their facilities....and the Cowboys offering their facilities to the Texans....unbelievable!
This is pure bullshit!!! How magnanimous of the Rangers...agreeing to "host" the Houston series and agreeing to "allow" the Astros be the home team. The whole deal is a chickenshit move by a totally chickenshit franchise. The Rangers are out of any contention....they gave away their best pitcher and are simply playing out the string. All the Rangers had to do was agree to switch the series....but no!I understand the "disbelief" and "angst" regarding the "denial" of the Astro's request, especially considering the situation. Again, I get it and I'm not trying to defend them. They're actually in the hunt for a wild card birth (1.5 games back with 30 games left) and from a franchise standpoint, not putting yourself in position to play 4 consecutive away series in the final month of the season makes perfect sense. I do wish they had simply said "ok" and agreed to switch...This is pure bullshit!!! Jerra Jones offered the Texans full use of his facilities....that was class. Anytime Jerra Jones can "outclass" someone it is astonishing.....The Texas Rangers are simply disgusting. playoff push my ass!....If they had any interest in a playoff push they would have kept Darvish.
