Coaching possibilities

Green Bay's Mike McCarthy could be a possibility. He has a home on Lake Travis and I believe his daughter lives in Austin. FWIW

Andersen from Wisconsin, great coach and completely turned around one of the worst programs in college football!

McCarthy would be nuts to leave Rogers but he can coach for sure.

Maybe Anderson could bring Keeton from Utah State to solve our QB issues heading into next year.

I would say no to Meyer because of Aaron Hernandez and several other questionable characters he recruited to Florida. He also straddles the line of ethics too much.

Has anyone heard if Briles new extension has out clauses for any in-state schools or is the buyout a flat amount with no school exceptions?

I wouldn't be so quick to discount bringing Coach Boom back to the 40. True, his Gators have struggled, but they've also been decimated with injuries. He had a Top 10 finish last year and is currently 22-14 / .611. His iron-jaw mentality is much needed right now and he's already familiar with Texas and the recruiting roads. Texas high school coaches loved him during his 3-year stint and he was named Coach-in-Waiting for a reason. He's a helluva coach! Consider the overall records of those hired prior to coming to Texas: Brown was 86-74-1 / .537%; Mackovic was 44-36-1 / .549; McWilliams was 7-4 / .636; Akers was 10-13 / .435 and DKR was 17-13 / .567. I think this would make a seamless transition and I really believe Muschamp covets the Texas and would literally jump at the chance to return to Austin. His wife loved it here and with the rising temps in Gainesville, who knows? FWIW

If not Saban, Meyers, or Briles, how about Bill O'Brien of Penn State? He's done a lot with little talent under difficult circumstances.

As for NFL guys, I like Ken Whisenhunt, San Diego Chargers' OC. Philip Rivers is having a career year.

Ian a 100% in on a CFB guy.

I believe college and NFL are different, recruiting and innovative Offenses and time constraints make it a different challenge.
