Coaching Changes-NCAA Football

I respected the job Mike Riley was able to do at Oregon State. The Beavers getting Gary Anderson definitely exceeds my expectations for them.
Oregon State really wants to compete with Oregon for the top recruits.  That starts with coaching.  I'm impressed with the Anderson hire.  While Riley did a lot of good things there, I believe he needed a change of scenery.

If I'm a Nebraska fan, I'd rather the Cornhuskers had hired Anderson over Riley. Anderson must have wanted out of Wisconsin pretty bad to go to Oregon State. Washington State and Oregon State are the worst jobs in the Pac12.

You gotta figure something at Wisconsin is messed up.  Bielema bailed out for Arkansas and now Anderson to Oregon State.

2 guys leaving for perceived lesser programs.  Barry Alvarez must be a pain in the ass.

I don't think these Foster to A&M rumors have any truth, but I sure hope they do. Foster would be an absolutely horrible hire scheme wise in the SEC. I don't think there's a team that runs 4-4 "G" formations in a power conference other than Virginia Tech. I would go all in on Muschamp, Narduzzi, Mattison and even Pelini before I thought about hiring Foster.

Wonder what Andersen's SAT score was? Surely Harvard material.

The problem with that statement/rumor is that he went to Oregon State not Fresno State.

I am dubious that the admission standards for this Pac-12 school are lower than at Wisconsin.

Heard on the radio that coaches have grown tired of Alvarez meddling. Apparently he still sits in on meetings and makes coaching decisions on schemes and play calling. Bilema and Andersen flew the coup with lateral moves, might be something to these rumors.

I've heard the same. And Alvarez will coach them in their bowl.

Hearing that Pitt coach Paul Chryst is taking the vacant Wisconsin position.

O/U set at 2 yrs before he takes the job at Colorado State, Navy, Portland State or Texas State to get away from Alvarez.

That was quick

If true,  Pittsburgh is looking at its 7th head coach (including interims who coached games) in less than 5 yrs.

This is what I assumed it would be. We're talking about a past head coach here, so he's going to think he knows how the team should be playing. I'm sure any and every mistake that a Wisconsin team makes on the field will lead to an earful for the head coach from Alvarez. Not to mention, he'll be coaching Wisconsin for a 2nd time in a bowl game when he isn't the actual head coach. It sounds like he has a bad case of the Jerry Jones.

Wow.  Good for them.

Hire a great OC and they are off to the races.

I must admit that I am so intrigued to see how he might do there, I would probably go to a game or two (tix are cheap)

Coach Boom in Houston makes sense.

He's got experience recruiting TX and southeast.  It'd be a good hire for UH, assuming Muschamp hires a good OC.

that would be a win for both. allow muschamp to get his career back on track in a lower profile setting and UH would get a guy not named tony levine.
