Chip Brown dropping bombs

This is one of the more idiotic posts on this website. The worst coaching mistake you've ever seen--EVER--was that one play last week that just so happened to be the team coached by the person we would like as our coach. Gotcha. There's no bias in that at all.
And you're implying Mack has NEVER made a coaching mistake ever.

Congrats on you being fine with mediocrity. Our fans are so awesome.
Pancho, my friend, I have no clue who you are or how old you are or how much you really know about football and coaching. If you will sign your real name to the posts you make, then I might listen. Read my post, and quit making accusations that are not accurate.

You, sir, are the idiot.

You guys show a little respect for bcherry168 for crying out loud. Do your homework...

Pancho....you are WAAAAAY out of line. You have no idea of what you're talking about or who you're talking to. Extremely disrespectful and uncalled for.

Chip just said that the ONLY one who has say on Mack returning or not returning is Bill Powers. Also If Texas beats Baylor Mack may very well be back... Dear lord way too much smoke about Mack returning in 2014...
Go Bears.

I am not trying to incite a mob to throw stones at me but I guess I want to know if we cant get our absolute #1 choice coach to replace MB (IMO Saban or Harbaugh) then why would we settle for just anyone just for the sake of kicking Mack out. I am not saying that MB hasnt passed his prime but I also think we could do much worse. I just wish everyone could just relax and let the season play out. People are losing their minds over Saban and a rumored contract extension. I thought all along that people have lost their minds to think that a 62 yr old man was ever coming here to help rebuild our program in the first place. We have a new AC who will make the tough decisions in due time even if it means MB is back for 2014. The last thing that we need to do is to just hire anyone out of discontentment with MB. A wrong hire would expedite us way past mediocrity straight into horrific that could take a decade or more to crawl out of. I would take MB back in '14 if it meant we get the right guy. We will eventually get a incredible hire here, we will get who we need and want (that isnt 2-3 yrs from collecting Social Security).

What the he'll did we hire Patterson for?
I think too much was made of the Patterson hire? Dodds wanted to retire, and they hired Patterson. Powers recently said Patterson did not come here with an agenda. There are no lines to be drawn between the hire and firing Mack. IMO..

You don't bring in a guy with the rep of making sweeping changes all so you can keep the status quo. Deloss was going to retire at some point but some have reported he wasn't quite ready and wanted to stay on longer. He wasn't allowed too. Then you hire an AD in a expedited manner and had them in place by the first of nov in time for a coaching search. People at Texas did push for saban. Some other names have been thrown around too. I just can't by if saban doesn't come these people just say f it lets just bring mack back. They are plenty of other better choices out there and there the change these people wanted is still very possible

My name is Sean.

Graduate of UT in 2005 with a degree in Communication

I have a masters degree and I'm working on my PhD

I workout 5-6x a week and I like to eat sugar cookies.

I was in a car wreck the day before Thanksgiving in Dallas because some cowboy rear-ended my car.

ou sucks.

Now what does that have to do with your horrific line of argumentation?

And who are you?

I'm not out of line when I'm deconstructing someone's post and their argumentation. It's not "disrespectful" nor "uncalled for" either. Good Christ.

Pancho you are talking to the son of the former UT coach in the 40s that coached Bobby Layne and Tom Landry and took UT to some great finishes and bowl wins in the late 40s. His son was a State

District Judge for many yrs and is as knowledgeable as anyone around regarding Longhorn sports and history

If there is a buyout involved then the regents would have to vote on it correct? If true then Chip is wrong.

The BOR will ruber stamp that, most want Mack gone

Ok...so this doesnt further devolve..... Lets ask and answer four simple questions out here in public and then move on from trying to put people in timeout.

1. Is Sean (or anyone else not wearing a VIP or Moderator tag) not entitled to express their opinion, even if its unpopular?

2. Is it possible that a multitude of people on this board are knowledgeable regarding Longhorn Sports and History? (Randolph Duke for example).

3. Do we need to come up with a list of posting commandments like OB has to avoid situations like this ("Do you know who I am?" moments for example)

4. Do we need to come up with at "tag" for certain posters to give the 'regular" users an idea of what they may get into if they want to debate a "VIP" for example?

What I think:

1 - I don't care who you are people, if you want to get it on, bring it. It's debate and sparring that makes this place fun. Save the death threats and severe belittlement, but we are adults and all (should) realize at the end of the day it's just the internet.

2 - I think so, and I'm glad to have them around. I'd like to have even more (I enjoyed the ex player from Thanksgiving for example)

3 - I'd really hope not.

4 - I don't have an issue with wanting to recognize someone as special, but I do think if someone is absolutely off limits we should take steps to preserve the relationship while allowing the person to speak. If there is no one "off limits" then we should treat everyone the same.

Weigh in people. Its your site.

I would love to meet this posters some day. I don't hate him. I just don't like the logic.

If he's a district judge, he makes enough money to buy me beer.

:)

Screw Chip. Screw Ketch. Screw OB's.

As a matter of fact, burn it all down. Even Austin sports talk radio. Fireball of the coaches and radio personalities. They're all worthless.

The thing I love about this site is the civility that has been displayed so far. I for one want to keep it that way and love the debates. Even when they get heated though, there is no reason to have to resort to 7th grade name calling, no matter who you are.

Since you answered first, where, for you, is a "line crossed"? Some people have much thicker skins than others, I get that, but what do you think

For me it's the name calling. You can say someone has made an idiotic statement or idea but when you directly call someone an idiot is opens up the 6th grade bickering which runs rampant on OB. This is the main reason why I am spending more and more time here, and fully expect to slowly ween myself from OB. Personal attacks of any kind should never be tolerated as it really adds nothing to the conversation.

I can respect that. Thanks for replying.

I have thought for several years this is a MONSTROUS untapped market. Someone just has to go out there and get it.
