My guess is that she was running toward the dog to chase it off.

That's a badass cat!  I'm not a cat person, but this one is aces high with me!

I'd find a bat and beat the shit outta that dog, too, the next time I saw him - if it were my son.

i didn't say they moved. each one is shooting toward the street at the edge of the driveway. seems odd, but i don't have security cameras. but i am armed and frequently intoxicated so don't get any ideas.

They are probably observing the dog for a period for any disease, and will then destroy it. That's my guess. My dad drove more than one skunk, squirrel, or other creature (after he shot them) to Austin or San Antonio for testing because they had bitten a child. It was never one of us because we were taught not to handle wild animals when we were very young, at least not living ones.

They couldn't run the tests for rabies in our area!
