• CoachFosterDBU Sounds great. Good night guys 10:54pm
• lakeman74 Great stuff Brandon thank you 10:54pm
• Aaron Carrara I'll holler at you soon Brandon. Let's do it again 10:54pm
• Aaron Carrara Ya'll check out DBU skills training at http://www.dbuskillstraining.com and refer kids looking to enhance their skills to Coach Foster 10:53pm
• Mike Garland Thanks coach 10:53pm
• CoachFosterDBU Thank you 10:52pm
• Aaron Carrara We appreciate your time and insight - you are a true Longhorn Legend and we wish you the best of luck 10:52pm
• CoachFosterDBU and no problem, i really enjoyed it 10:52pm
• CoachFosterDBU Well guys I enjoyed it, and any time you guys need me just give me a shout 10:52pm
• Aaron Carrara Sorry about it Coach 10:51pm
• Aaron Carrara Guys, out of respect for Coach Foster's time we will have to wrap it up (we've kept him longer than we were supposed to already) 10:51pm
• CoachFosterDBU its very hard! for one you get winded! for two they give you so many formations and run different route combinations so its hard to get a bead on their routes. But becoming a student of the games and really committing to the mental side, i think it will aide in being successful against the spread 10:50pm
• CoachFosterDBU Its not fair at all, but the schools deserve some type of a leverage to entice these kids to stay. Its a funny game and i don't think there is a clear cut way that both parties can benefit from 10:47pm
• lakeman74 How hard is it as a Defensive back to defend the spread offense so many teams run, especially in the Big 12? 10:47pm
• CoachFosterDBU Those rivalry games are what its all about! Its a shame that we don't play A&M anymore. so much history in that game and we as Texas citizens deserve to see this game every year 10:46pm
• CoachFosterDBU J cole, you're totally correct. and as far as living up to DBU its just a thin line man. You talking about back to back Thorpe winners, a room full of guys getting drafted 1st 2nd 3rd round. its one of those things where you want to do and be that as well. 10:44pm
• Mike Garland on that note, is it fair for a college to pull a kids offer because they got a pledge from the kid they really wanted? 10:43pm
• Aaron Carrara Brandon, have to ask you about what it is like to play in a big rivalry game against OU or A&M . And what are your thoughts on the two teams (A&M and Texas) not playing one another anymore? 10:43pm
• CoachFosterDBU I think its a bit unfair and Im sure a lot of these kids commit because of the excitement of getting the opportunity to play college football. So whoever offers they just say yes, knowing that if a better school offers they will decommit and go else where 10:42pm
• jcolestx you mentioned B you don't feel like you lived up to "DBU" but i beg to differ you had an opportunity at the next level.... And from what you said about coach akina he was more about teaching and being a student of the game... and that's what your doing with your coaching and the DBU training and that's what it's all about to me!!! 10:40pm
• Mike Garland What do you think about all these kids that commit a year or two before senior year but come out with a top five? 10:40pm
• CoachFosterDBU and I had a couple of out of state track offers, but i knew i didn't want to run collegiate track 10:38pm
• CoachFosterDBU Rice and U of H recruited me the most 10:38pm
• Mike Garland You said you knew where you wanted to go, but, what other schools recruited you? 10:37pm
• CoachFosterDBU lol all the time 10:37pm
• scotas497 Did Huffy talk about Ihop back then too? LOL 10:37pm
• CoachFosterDBU yes i did, Ross was my college room mate and Huff was my big brother. both great guys 10:36pm
• scotas497 Brandon, didn't you play with Aaron Ross and Huffy? 10:35pm
• CoachFosterDBU best QB i went against was Colt in practice! 10:34pm
• CoachFosterDBU I was not looking forward to seeing that on film 10:33pm
• Matt Cotcher The Legend! 10:33pm
• CoachFosterDBU My freshman year, first day of full pads, time for one on ones. usually, all the freshman go against freshman, upper class-men go with upperclassmen. make long story short, i end up having to go against him and then i had to press, he slapped me so hard in helmet and ran past me for a long fade route, He told me "welcome to Big 12 freshman!" 10:32pm
• lakeman74 ! 10:32pm
• lakeman74 tell us the Roy story 10:32pm
• Mike Garland Best quarterback you ever went up against? 10:31pm
• CoachFosterDBU finally a easy question! lol. Thats simple. Roy Williams! I have a great story too 10:30pm
• Matt Cotcher What WR was toughest to guard in practice while you were at UT? 10:29pm
• CoachFosterDBU Its hard to say at this moment, with his success at louisville I'm sure they will pan out to great players. I find it weird in a way that he recruiting in Florida, but the recruiting landscape is so different now. When i was at Texas, 98% of us were from Texas and we had a handful of guys who were not. Now we have guys from all over, Which i think is great 10:28pm
• scotas497 What do you think about some of the DBs Strong has brought in - especially the Florida kids (Davante Davis & Tim Irvin)? 10:26pm
• CoachFosterDBU Thank you Scotas 10:25pm
• CoachFosterDBU Um probably network more, make more friend outside of the lockerroom. Nothing against my teammates but i was so focused on football I should of branched out more. get of my shell a bit. lol 10:25pm
• CoachFosterDBU If I could go back and do one thing, thats tough! 10:24pm
• scotas497 Awesome chat guys, and Brandon I was a big fan when you were at UT. 10:24pm
• CoachFosterDBU When it comes to recruiting its hard to give them great advice because my recruiting experience was very fast and happened over night. I knew where i wanted to go and it was that simple. But the one simple advice i give all kids to be open to all schools. We all have our dream schools, but it may not happen. so be open to all schools my adivce 10:23pm
• Mike Garland If you could go back and do anything different, what would you do? 10:22pm
• CoachFosterDBU Thank you J coles. 10:21pm
• Matt Cotcher When you talk to kids about the recruiting process, what are some of your recommendations? 10:21pm
• CoachFosterDBU Great question! Man so much, going in i was already a short corner, and the best thing i had going for me was i was fast, But i quickly learned it was more than just being fast. My redshirt year i gained about 10 pounds, and just learned how to play football from the schematic side of things. Coach Akina was all about being a student of game and thats what i grew the most in in 10:20pm
• jcolestx The bowl game you had against Cal was pretty awesome too Foster!! Those young men your training are getting great first hand knowledge! A buddy of mine who played for Bama asked me who was the best DB I've ever faced collegiate or high school, i told him B Foster hands down! Never had a guy break on a slant so fast in my life!!! He is as advertised guys!!! 10:19pm
• CoachFosterDBU Yeah at my pro day i was clocked at 4.28! it was the second fastest time that year, but thats unofficial. 10:18pm
• Aaron Carrara Coach, you played as a redshirt freshman at Texas. How much growth occurred for you physically, mentally and from a skill-set standpoint from then to your senior year? 10:18pm
• CoachFosterDBU I do not, which is mostly due to me. Shame on me, I haven't been to a game since I've graduated. Its one of those things where personally you don't feel you lived up to quote un quote DBU and you kind of stay away, but I'm past that and matured so I'm starting to come around more. 10:17pm
• Juan Grande As I recall, you ran in the 4.2's -- is that correct? You were one of our fastest players ever (I think) 10:17pm
• Lukus Alderman Do you have much involvement with the Texas program right now?10:15pm
• CoachFosterDBU Moment im most proud of is graduating. It made my parents really proud 10:14pm
• CoachFosterDBU Transition from college to NFL wasn't has drastic as i thought it would be, but it made me realize how small i truly was! The speed of the game was more uptempo but something i adjusted to quickly. After NFL was over, it was simple, I always knew once football ended I wanted to coach, then eventually get into DB training and thats what I'm doing now 10:13pm
• CoachFosterDBU J Coles, one of my High school teammate and friend. I feel Coach Strong is doing a great job in establishing his identity in the program. Lately with the recruits that we are getting to commit I can only believe we are heading in the right direction. And I had a great coach in Coach Brown and Coach Akina, but i would play for any coach like Coach Strong 10:11pm
• Lukus Alderman Looking back at your career at Texas, what is the one play that you were involved in that sticks out most in your mind? What moment are you most proud of in your career? 10:10pm
• Aaron Carrara Tell us about your transition from playing football at Texas - to the NFL - to what you are doing today 10:10pm
• CoachFosterDBU As anyone returning, I think the first thing you need to do is go look at film and evaluate yourself, from outside looking i would like to see Duke Thomas be better at the point of attack. 10:08pm
• CoachFosterDBU I don't keep in touch as much as i should but I'm beginning too 10:07pm
• CoachFosterDBU Being a part of it was special for me personally because we were so close as a team.We competed hard against one another everyday and it was just seeing the fruits of everyone labor and it makes it very special. 10:06pm
• jcolestx B, how's it going fam!? how do you feel about the direction of the program with coach strong? wish you could play for him? 10:06pm
• Lukus Alderman Duke Thomas seems to be the top returning DB next year. What are some of his strengths as well as areas that he needs to improve on? 10:06pm
• CoachFosterDBU and also recruiting, Texas has always done a great job of bringing in athletes that can man cover and have great ball skills, so when you add that to the tradition you can create something special 10:05pm
• Aaron Carrara Brandon, you were part of the 2005 national championship team at Texas. Tell us about what that means to you - and do you keep in touch with the program? 10:05pm
• CoachFosterDBU When you know their is something oto uphold such as tradition, you never want to be the group of guys that let that tradition go 10:04pm
• CoachFosterDBU Lukus: to answer it simply, i believe its the tradition left by players and Coach Akina 10:03pm
• CoachFosterDBU and yes it is something I tell the kids I train to do 10:02pm
• CoachFosterDBU Secondly, it was a opportunity for me to work on my speed in terms of form and technique 10:02pm
• Lukus Alderman Coach, what has made Texas so successful this year against the passing attacks of spread teams like Baylor, TCU, etc? 10:01pm
• CoachFosterDBU the first advantage it gave me was it didn't give me a opportunity to be lazy and not be active 10:01pm
• CoachFosterDBU Great question 10:00pm
• Matt Cotcher Brandon, what advantages did running track provide in football? Is that something you recommend at DBU camp? 10:00pm
