Charlie Strong's Poor First Impression?

[tweet'481993259016003585']

For everyone that still want to believe this hack... he just mocked us on Twitter. ...

Conference championship and BCS bowl last year, highly ranked going into this season. That alone puts it in better shape than ours. The new stadium has the fan base energized. Stability in the coaching staff.
Right now, we have no positives to hold on to. Steve Patterson was supposedly brought in to drive change. All we are getting is that it is a priority to play a game in Mexico, we need outlets for UT apparel in China, tha fans arent paying enough for game day tickets and we better not pay players. Nothing positive for the fans.

Six months is enough time to analyze the problems within Bellmont and start to bring about change. Maybe Patterson just isn't up to the job.

I think our program is in a lot worse shape than Baylor's.

The "national" luster of that title was wiped out when they got pistol whipped by UCF. The fans should be energized by that new stadium, its nice. Cant argue that one there, but Baylor doesn't have an elite perception nationally. No one is talking about Baylor joining the CFB Gods.  Id say they have more momentum, but they are losing recruits, even to us.

Nothing is going to be positive for the fans until North Texas comes here and gets send home with a sound beating. Thats what it will take to perk some people up.

People still care. National media cares enough to crap on the program. With Mack still here this fanbase would have long since checked out.

I'll give it time, especially regarding Bellmont while so much dirty laundry is in the wind with the Kearney lawsuit.

Let me guess, you work for Nick.

At some point, the program needs some positive media support. The performance of the baseball team has been totally buried by the latest wave of ridicule and mockery heaped on Charlie Strong and the football program.

The overall program is performing well. The Director's Cup points are final as of tomorrow and Texas will have a top 5 finish, in spite of the fact we field fewer teams than schools like Stanford (who won yet again, extending their streak to 20 straight years). Somehow the positive performance of the various sports teams isn't important to anyone in Bellmont.

The brand is getting bashed in the media daily. Maybe Bellmont has just given up and they are happy being mocked in the national sports media. Pretty soon we get to add the Bev Kearney verdict onto the baggage of the program. It seems that Bellmont has decided not to promote the UT brand any longer. I see nothing positive in the media and haven't seen anything that reflects positively on the program since before last season started.
Never met Nick in my life. Bellmont doesn't care about a few troll journalists, nor should they.

He's a troll journalist, like I said it's just best to ignore idiots like this. These type articles are written for one reason, to be polarizing.

Winning on the field is all that matters. If Strong wins on the field everyone will shut up. The parallels with Augie are a great example of this. You remember all those "fire Augie" threads and articles? Now all you see are articles about an "Augie comeback". Very simple. Win and people will shut up.  At the end of the day that's all that matters, winning.

Not even Coach Strong believes winning is all that matters. If you think it's all about winning on the field, call Coach Strong and tell him to quit wasting time with his focus on meaningless academics and character issues and to start giving 100% to what matters. Tell him SEC teams win championships because they focus on what matters. 512-471-3050.

The entire program should strive for excellence in all aspects. Accountability is expected from the players, but that is were it seems to stop. The Bellmont equivalent of life-long tenure is the six-figure salary. Once someone reaches that level, they essentially can't be fired, regardless of how poor their performance becomes or how their failures negatively affect the program.

Winning on the field would be nice, but the program isn't going to get turned around until there is accountability starting with Steve Patterson and going down to teach individual athlete.

Sometimes this is what I think when I here some comments on here, but some people are not happy unless they are not happy... so be who you are and enjoy

If everything that was written and reported was totally fair and unbiased then people would stop reading.

And the people who write and report know this.

Most people who read what is written and reported don't know this.

In other words, bias "sells". Unbiased doesn't.

It's not that hard to understand.

Duke, I believe holding kids accountable for their grades and the way they act is a form of winning. He is not just a coach. He is also a mentor. If he can help mold these kids into successful student athletes then I believe we will also see good results on the field. I think you have been critical of the way Sumlin runs his program. So I would have thought you would want more accountability from our players as well as the coaches. I think CS will get more out of the players because of the type of program he is building. You said in another post this type of program would be good for long term.

I am happy with the level of accountability Strong has in place for the players. I wish there was accountability within Bellmont. Patterson isn't driving culture change that I can detect. One person is all I see that has been allowed to go on to other opportunities (Brian Davis). Don't think the athletes can't detect the hypocrisy of staff coveting their $500 Old Mill napping pillows and not delivering for the athletes and coaches, yet the athletes and the coaches are held accountable for their actions and contributions.

For the love duke.... you have said this crap in over a 100 posts.... we understand that's the way you feel... don't mean we agree but we get that you believe this...
