He'd been discussed here for Texas. Looks like he's a top target of Wake Forest.

I think Morris can do better. I understand wanting to land that first head coaching gig, but look at what Muschamp did. He waited it out and was about to land the Texas job if Mack hadn't changed his mind and ended up at a pretty good place in Florida. Kirby Smart has turned down jobs all over the place and is probably in line to replace Saban whenever he leaves or retires.

Unless Morris just really wants out of Clemson, which I doubt, I think he'd be better served waiting for a job closer to his home of Texas. I wish Texas would look his way if Saban tells us no, but we won't look at assistants if our past is any indicator.

I personally am not a fan. I feel like he does well against inferior opponents but when his teams play meaningful games against teams on the same level, he has some kind of a block and the offense rarely plays up to par.

I agree with Lobo. Morris can do better than Wake Forest. I think the USC job is what hurt Morris the most. With Sumlin now stuck at A&M, Morris misses out on his Top Job and he'll have to settle somewhere else. That doesn't mean the job won't be better, it just won't be the A&M he must have had his eyes on. Honestly, I could see him ending up at UCLA. If Mora Jr. leaves for Washington, as I expect he will. The UCLA job would be open and it would be a much more intriguing position than Wake Forest. Not to mention, UCLA has a young squad full of talented players. With the right coaching, they could be a contender in 2015.

UT should never hire anyone but an accomplished Head Coach - period. Morris is a good offensive coordinator with TX ties, but he needs to cut his teeth elsewhere. We can do better.

Of course, this attitude cost us Bob Stoops back in the day. :P

And that is why I went w/ South Carolina last week.

Just can't ever see Texas hiring anyone without prior head coaching experience. Muschamp, however, would have been the exception as HCIW. There are just too many highly qualified head coaches out there to hire a coach that hasn't been in the field of battle, IMO.

I like what he has done so far and he has risen quickly throughout the ranks but he is only 4 years removed from coaching High School football. I'm not sure he has the experience to lead a major program just yet let alone Texas.

I believe that Chad Morris will go to UCLA, but the buy out is a large sum of money.

You can thank Dabo for that.

Dabo is an average head coach at best. He is lucky he is at Clemson, recruits well and is given large sums of money to handpick a great staff. He brings very little to the table IMO.
