Geno Smith is the highest rated QB in college football(208.4) but David Ash is number two(184). In the history of Texas football only four QB's have thrown for 300 yards on consecutive weeks and one of only three to have thrown for a 1000 yards in the first four weeks.(Major Applewhite and James Brown). Were you surprised Colt or Vince didn't do this?

Leave it to Mack Brown to try and ground Ash-A-Mania:

"Don't go letting all these kudos climb into your head." ... "Just keep playing your even-keeled game and you'll be fine."

Ash should be able to feast on the Mountaineer defense. They have given up Marshall (428), Maryland (305), and Baylor (581) passing yards. The allowed 34 points to Marshall and a whopping 63 to Baylor. I am not sure, short of putting the ball on the ground, that West Virginia can stop Texas.

I think the key to Texas winning the game, other than outscoring West Virginia, is "Time Of Possession." If Ash can play mistake free and utilize his running game, we just might see the Longhorns keep the ball away from the Mountaineers long enough to prevail.

Can Ash play in the moment and eliminate mistakes? I think he can and with a bit of help from the defense will win the game and see a moment like this in the end.

Clock gobbling will help us tremendously and I agree it will be a huge player in the success tonight. The runmimg game must pound it out and Ash must continue to convert on third downs.

Ash playing extremely efficient football right now. 134 yards in the air, no turnovers.
