Recruiting experts n HornSports, now that Malik in on the 40 acres how many other top recruits flip to Texas and can this all of a sudden become a top 5 recruiting class?

I'm just curious, I follow recruiting from a safe distance but get the feeling that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not an expert, but Boyd is pretty much a lock now. I think we can make a run at Mack too.

I think that we can get into the top 10 for sure. Top 5 would be icing on the cake.

Momentum, can be a beautiful thing!

I am eating crow today as I had Malik not giving the Horns a chance. A great catch for Strong.

Hold on, let me get out my feather duster...

After everything that has gone on today, how can anyone call himself a "recruiting expert?" Even Charlie Strong is just along for the ride at this point. At best, you will find a recruiting reporter. No one knows what is going to happen next at this point. Wild damned day.

There are a lot of things that could happen not just with us, but with other schools around the country. It's so hard to predict how things will finish. Just trying to put together a possible list of what Texas ends up with was hard enough yesterday believing that Malik and DeAndre were going to commit elsewhere. And it's even more difficult now with all the momentum from their pledges. We're at 21 commits right now I believe. Burt is a soft at best, but let's assume he sticks. That means there are probably at most 10 spots available and probably not even that many.

Guys we are looking pretty hard at:

Soso Jamabo

Nick Brossette

Ryan Newsome

Carlos Strickland

Gilbert Johnson

Devoniare Clarington

Chris Clark

Daylon Mack

Kris Boyd

Holton Hill

Mark Fields

Tim Irvin

Devanta Davis

That's 13 right there that I thought of off the top of my head. And doesn't include guys like Kyler Murray, Kendall Sheffield, Demarckus Lodge or others who might pop onto the radar down the stretch. The staff is going to have to make some very difficult decisions over the next 5 weeks to figure out who they want and the number crunch that could occur moving forward.

just who are these "recruiting experts?" all those folks who said "Jefferson to Texas" yesterday?

Lol. My point exactly. And for the ones who had both McNeal and Jefferson to texas, how many of them also got Mack decommitting today? Crazy damned day for everyone. And it isn't over yet.

Its some good tasting crow with orange sauce on it. LOL....

I really figured MJ was 100% Aggy ( I think he was until very late ).

Can't really exhale just yet. Not until the kid (s) sign on the dotted line in February, or enroll for the Spring semester.

18 year old minds can change overnight...(FedEx packages, etc....) LOL

If this kid hangs with us, it may well be the biggest and most influential recruiting coup for Charlie Strong.

You can breathe now

LongviewLobo is one of my favorite posters, and doesn't post ofter enough...but Lobo forgot Chris Warren, a very important piece of the Longhorn puzzle.
