Burnt Ends (5/30/2016)

I'm still trying to figure out the numbers for 2017 class..how would this affect the 2017 class as far as numbers are concern...???? In case if this does happens ....

Numbers are going to go up and down based on academic casualties, transfers, etc. I'll have to look closely but I believe Texas is at 82 right now. They have 3 open ships going into the year.

If Baylor tries to block Hudson I think NCAA would act fast because surely the NCAA will probably already be looking into high school coach and his old teammate and example of purity and honest Art Briles.

the Duvernay brothers surprises me because Texas passed earlier on Donovan.

Cobb going to ou is probably where Donovan`s spot would open from. shame because Cobb is best pure CB in 2016 class in Texas.

Kam Martin could be in play if Strong needs another RB.

JP Uriquedez would only be a take if missed on Hudson or a OL transfer from Texas.

Brandon Bowen should be a take if Fowler doesn`t make into Texas very similar talents.

Good news is by the time baylor releases these recruits Texas will know how many spots are open due to grades and transfers that when recruits start visits and committing Strong will know who and how many  to pursue

It's a really interesting situation and we have to discuss it while the possibilities are open. The optics will be terrible for them if they block it.

I spoke with a former HS head coach today who is still well connected in the coaching community. He said that Baylor has taken a huge hit, but that hit will get even larger if those kids are NOT let out of their LOIs. He said that would be the nail in the coffin for them among most HS coaches in Texas.

Nice, nice meaty Burnt Ends this time. Sucks to hear about the Fowler news. I really believed he would see serious PT this year. I hope your first source is right on him.

I would think the high school coaches would dislike they're not being let out of there LOI.

Thats what I meant. I corrected it in my post. Thats what I get for posting so late. lol

Sounds like Fowler will be a no go. Apparently he skips class all the time.. What a shame to waste all that talent.

Skipping class isn't really a problem, happens all the time and very easy to make up the hours missed. Getting a high enough GPA or Test score on the other hand is difficult.

Missing class isn't the reason he's not getting in.

Well, I mean, part of the reason you go to class is so you can receive teaching that will, presumably, help you to pass and achieve said test scores. If we could all just skip class and get great test scores, teachers wouldn't exist. If he went to class, he just might receive instruction that would help him.
Skipping class may not be the reason he's not getting in, but it certainly hurts his chances.
