SignUp Now!You don't think all the so called insiders that were being used by a few just a few ago about Strong being out was not agenda driven? They wanted to influence public opinion and get the pulse of the fanbase. And all it did was damage the university and the football program.Ok, but I think it's on you to understand that not everyone plays by your definitions. What I put into print is what I'm told. I don't edit anything to suit anyone's taste or hidden definitions.
I do not have an agenda, much less one that is "driven." (lol)
I don't think anyone else I know of has an agenda, either. And I don't think for a second that you could even name what agenda that would be.
The phone rings, I post. People are free to believe it or not believe it. But some seem to just lose their shit over this stuff and that's who I was talking to.
What is harmful to the university is subjective and depends on who you speak with. Some people think clearly that way, some simply don't. I don't think anything EVER posted on a message board will EVER affect (either way) what a university does or doesn't do. You may think different and thats fine.
If Meacham does leave, that will certainly shed a different light on this whole ordeal.
Not going to pass judgment on Cumbie. Obviously what we see on these boards and what is really going on in somebody's life are quite different. We simply can't begin to understand all that went on with him and his wife as they worked through what was a really tough decision for them.My opinion of Cumbie has sunk today. He opted for safety, for the security of not having everything on him. He can say what he wants and no doubt he means it, but it does wreak of well, lack of testicular fortitude, IMO.
He had a chance to become something other than an offensive backdrop, someone who drove the bus himself and could hang his name around something he built. Instead, he went back to the safety of Meachum's shadow.
I don't get the knee-jerk against the insiders. Obviously Cumbie thought it over and changed his mind about coming. Some people just get too butthurt over such things and it's probably just not worth it in the first place. I really get tired of the constant animosity that is simply inexplicable.
First, I want to say that I have no problem whatsoever with posters like yourself sharing information that they have received from their sources/insiders. I actually enjoy reading it.Ok, but I think it's on you to understand that not everyone plays by your definitions. What I put into print is what I'm told. Chip Brown is now sort of backing up this storyAccording to Higs --
The stumbling block was a 3rd year guaranteed.
We offered 2.
Cumbie would not take the job the 3rd year
We were never going to give a 3rd
