Last year, I said Lil Jordan Humphrey, among a few others, would have a break-out season. That was true to some extent. When you talk of the Texas offense today, you have to spend some time talking about Lil' Jordan.
So who will those break-out players be this year? I'll take a short stab at it . . .
1. Taquon Graham – TG has become somewhat of a physical freak, having grown in both weight and muscle composition through the tutelage of our conditioning guru. His growth/size, combined with what were already freakish athletic skills, could translate big time on the field this year. Texas needs a DL to emerge. TG is that guy.
2. Derek Kerstetter – I think we see this kid grow by leaps and bounds over last year. His versatility makes him one of the most valuable OL we have.
3. Keontay Ingram – His need to come right in and start has been relaxed for the moment with the addition of our Cal transfer. However, Ingram will prove to be a home run threat we haven't had since Charlie left.
4. Cade Brewer/Reese Leitao – The TE combo will emerge as Ehlinger's favorite go-to targets in the clutch.
5. Colin Johnson – Finally has the type of year everyone has thought he could have.
What say you?
