Boyd Apologizes

Screw him. Let him deal with the hell that is being a farm F@#K.
Ouch dude. This is an 18 year old kid who made a mistake. He apologized, I'm sure he'll have to deal with some consequences within the team, but he'll learn and grow from it I hope.

I hope you didn't tell your children (if you have children) when they made a mistake, "F@#K you. Go deal with the consequences yourself, you'll get no forgiveness from me."

I don't know how a guy can apologize his way out of an act like that.

In order for Kris to truly redeem himself, he will need to "prove" himself to his teammates and his coaches.  This will require him to step up to a much higher level.  Hopefully he will be able to reach down deep inside and turn this negative into a positive.  His actions in the classroom, in the locker room, on the field (practice and playing), out in the social genre will require Kris to show and live at a level of maturity beyond his age.  This is what he will need to do to gain the trust and respect of those that matter.  I truly think that he can, and I pray for his success in all aspects of his life.

I disliked that Boyd tweeted during halftime,
When asked during his post game presser, Strong stated something like they weren't supposed to have their phones. Reading some comments on other sites, I think some of us have forgotten what it's like to be 18 and away from home the first time.

When I was 18 (1967-68) I was a team leader in a USMC combat unit (3/3/3) in Vietnam just below the DMZ for 13 months, so I do remember what it's like to be 18 and away from home for the first time. I was also held accountable for every action that I took.

Some people, like it appears you were, are more mature at 18 than others and some aren't.

Yes, he made a stupid mistake and he is being held accountable however have you read some of the comments made by people about him?

Dillo, with all due respect, you grew up in a different time. 18 in 68 is a lot different in comparison to 18 in 15.

Yep and without the internet, thousands of people didn't see your mistakes.

Everyone should be held accountable for their mistakes and on the local news tonight they stated Kris is being punished. I'm pretty sure he will be able to tell you how many steps are in DKR by weeks end.

The young people of today have their issues, no doubt but they are also doing and creating things we just dreamed about. The 60's & 70's had these types of young people too, lets not kid ourselves.

Absolutely. I don't like it when people pretend there is a generational problem. Kids acted just as stupid in the 60's. Some acted worse. Eighteen year olds in the sixties didn't have to worry about every little immature thing they did being blasted on social media for everyone to mock and judge.

I'm not saying you weren't a beacon of maturity Dillo. I'm simply saying not all of your peers were.

I think Boyd finishes the season and then he will  leave, his choice not Coach Strong's.  That is just my opinion as I think he showed his true feelings which are still there.  I think the apology was more of a PR move by the University.  Will not be surprised if there might be a few other of our young freshmen group who leave after this year.  Just something to think about as we cannot be for certain that all these young freshmen we are playing now will actually be here next year.
