Bob Shipley still on staff?

Thought I'd read that Bob Shipley was retained by Strong after letting Patrick Suddes go. I see nothing on the Texas website that indicates he's still working on the 40. Just curious. I've met him and think he's a good guy. I figure if he's no longer on staff here, he may land a head coaching gig in high school. :)

Are you suggesting someone call Shipley to verify? Hahaha
I was hoping someone on the board might know him. Clearly 4n18 had the winning response. Glad he's still around. I think he'll be a huge plus with the Texas high school coaches.

Bob Shipley can help Coach Strong build relationships with Texas H.S, coaches. I wonder where Brad McCoy is in supporting Coach Strong? The University needs Texas high school coaches to publicly support the new program.

I've not read one thing about Coach Strong and staff that should be considered a problem by high school coaches who want to see their studs move to a program that can actually develop their players. That's a big change for The University, it deserves respect.

Well, just talked to a friend that told me Shipley is no longer with the program. He didn't elaborate. I know it's probably not that big a deal, but I thought he'd be great as a conduit with Texas high school coaches. A quality casuality of the new regime, IMO.

I liked him too but with his close ties to MB, probably best to let him move on.

I totally understand and agree with you. It just baffles me that he retains the longest tenured Mack Brown coach in Bruce Chambers. I think Tim Brewster would have been a good one to go after. Just don't know why Chambers got a pass.
