Biggest Joke Ever!

Doesn't bother me. Politics aside, what is it? It's just a trophy handed out to whomever provides the biggest story each year.

Don't forget that ESPN is owned and run by the same folks that do MSNBC.
Sorry, but MSNBC is owned by NBCUniversal News Group, a unit of the NBCUniversal Television Group division of NBCUniversal.

ESPN is owned by ESPN Inc., a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company (which operates the network, through its 80% controlling ownership interest) and Hearst Corporation (which holds the remaining 20% interest).

Owned by Walt Disney, who owns ABC. Truly a Mickey Mouse operation

Apparently they believe it takes a lot of courage to chop off your dick.

I think it takes a lot of loose screws. A lot.

I have had no personal interaction with someone who is transgender and it is something that I getting use to. My understanding about transgender people is that even at a very young age a child will feel like something is wrong inside and that they were born into the wrong sex.

The child can be born a male and  feel like they should be a female such as Catlyn Jenner or vice versa such as Sonny and Cher's child Chaz Bono. When this happens this causes a great deal of pain and unhappiness inside and from society's treatment of transgender people. Transgender people are more likely to get bullied and commit suicide.

I would hate to think that if I would have had a son or daughter that was born transgender it would mean a fate of a very unhappy life.  If by giving Catlyn Jenner this air time helps with more acceptance for transgender people than it's fine with me. Besides it's a ESPY which I don't really care about. It was just ESPN creating an award show to make money.

This is the statistic that it made it fine with me for this award:

The National Transgender Discrimination Survey, the largest study of transgender people’s experiences, found that 41 percent of transgender and gender non-conforming people have attempted suicide, a rate far higher than the national average of 4.6 percent.
