BIG Mack Brown- NOT GOOD

Folks keep talking about Sexton being a genius for leveraging the UT job to get a nice raise/extension from Bama. What if it turns out Jamail is the genius for leveraging Mack and his role post-resignation to squeeze as much as he can from the 'power brokers'. You want Saban, but he won't come unless I'm out of the picture? That's going to cost you...a lot.

The only leverage that Mack has is the information that Saban supposedly does not want to come in right behind a nasty split with Mack. He is just using this to leverage some hush money.

i have no problem in Mack getting more than his severance package as long as he leaves on a good note without creating rifts.- but if he is trying to be a difficult then he needs to be fired and be given only what is due to him as per his contract - not a penny more

he has anyway been over paid the last 4 years IMO

My thoughts exactly. I think there is a clause in there that he gets to work for the University after his coaching days are over. The f**k wad probably had Joe go over it and found some gray areas.
Mack has turned himself into a cancer. He needs to be completely removed from the program.
There isn't any such clause in his contract unless they snuck it in as a provision of one of his extention amendments. Here is the last contract he signed.

The way Mack's departure is being played out in the media makes me think the softness withing the team is. A symptom of a problem that I hope was cured with the departure of Deloss. We need to be generous and professional, but if someone wants to fight, we need to let them know we mean business.

If Mack wants to dig in his heels, we need to go all Bob Stoops on him and leave him wondering what happened. Maybe Bill Snyder on him and thrash him continuously. Possibly Bronco Mendenhall him and run all over him in a way previously unknown.

In short, Mack has to begin to accept that he has lead the program to some spectacular failures. Last year, we had the worst defense in the 120 year history of UT football. He is the only coach to lose 4 games in 4 consecutive years in the history of the program.

If Mack wants to be remembered for being the coach who burnt out and tried to damage the program on his way out the door, let's make that his legacy and see how that plays moving forward in broadcasting and endorsements.

DKR retired at DE because the game had changed and he said if he couldn't win without cheating, he no longer wanted to coach. THAT is integrity. Mack, you aren't DKR.

Fire him. Do it now. Let's start showing things have changed and we mean business. Otherwise, we truly are no longer the Jones and have absolutely become the Clampetts. Patterson, do your job.

He does have leverage guys. His name is Joe Jamail. Maybe JJ does want him to leave with dignity, but facts are facts. He's Mack's lawyer and has to do his job. Jamail is a lot of things, but ignorant of the law isn't one of them.

I'd really hoped for a moment like the Bowdens had. "Lets go home"...not "scorch the earth".

Mack was very smart to recruit the boosters like he recruited his players and fanbase.

Joe Jamail needs to step up and pay Mack's severance. Otherwise Mack's legacy is flushed down the toilet.

If Powers has given Patterson the green light, Mack is now a footnote. The rest is noise.

Mack can simply retire. He doesn't need an office at UT, and he doesn't need a mic at ESPN. Those are perks that you get when you earn them. I am not certain that he can recover at this point. He has never contradicted Jamail's statement about McCoy, and he wasn't the most popular man prior to that.

I hope Saban signs the contract and is introduced at the Banquet.

Jamail stated in an interview that he wrote the contract. It had better be ironclad.
