Longhorns behind Kansas in coaches’ vote.

[SIZE=16pt]IRVING, Texas —[/SIZE][SIZE=16pt] The University of Texas men’s basketball team is picked to finish second in the Big 12 Conference in a preseason vote of the league coaches, the conference office announced Thursday morning. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=16pt]Kansas claimed the top spot in the poll, each earning 78 points in polling for the upcoming 2014-15 season. The Jayhawks received six first-place votes. Texas earned 74 points in the poll and received three first-place votes. Oklahoma was picked third and claimed 67 points while earning one first-place vote.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=16pt]The Big 12 Conference will hold its preseason media day on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, site of the 2015 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship. Live coverage of the event will be available at Big12Sports.com.[/SIZE]

No surprise that KU is ranked 1st in the Preseason Poll but Texas has some serious consideration , justifiably so.

The Big 12 is DEEP if the coaches think that Oklahoma State is the 8th best team in the conference. Yikes.
