Big 12 Expansion Project

That's awfully flowery language coming from a self acknowledged bullshitter😜

Somehow the bona fide ISU AD was candid, interesting and refreshing. Me, apparently I'm just a helpless cockroach.
Don't be so hard on yourself.  ;)

Every morning you TcU alums and fans should wake up thanking the Big 12, DeLoss, and Jesus for your current station in life. We could've - and probably should've - just as easily added Louisville.

I generally hate it when dead topics are resurrected. And, here I am doing just that. However, in light of the new Calexit chatter, here is what I propose:
1) Help CA secede from the U.S.

2) Help Trump extend his wall to include CA

3) Bring ASU, Ariz and Utah into the Big12 and boot BU.

= We are back to the Big 12.

Interesting.... will take too long.  Here is my counter to get the Big 12 back to 12:

Texas and OU join another conference:  ACC or Big 10.... whatever.

Big 12 can bring aboard:  UH, UNT, UTEP and Arkansas State.

In both cases it is a more natural fit.

NO! I refuse to let this thread die! :P   But.....New Mexico?

I would assume SMU or Rice gets in well before New Mexico...

Between SMU, Rice, New Mexico, and Tulsa, tell me who has the highest attendance at games and you probably have your answer.

Should things ever move in this direction that will be a critical component for determining who does or who doesn't get in.

True, but most will get a nice percentage attendance bump immediately if this type of plan ever came to fruition. New Mexico's gain would be less impacted due to location. But, I guess a flight on Southwest to ABQ makes it pretty easy travel.

I knew if I waited long enough you would open this one back up JB.

You love to hate our little club, the BIG XII.

Man do I hate to see Virginia and North Carolina in the Northeast column. However, I guess the war is over and things change.

I would love to reclaim Arkansas. Otherwise, there are many suitors but no perfect fits. I never really felt Missouri was a good fit for our conference. I guess we could beg our Aggie brethren to rejoin our little club and if this Baylor thing gets out of hand and they are dropped we could discuss UH, NMU and, dare I say, the Pony Express. I hope you know how hard it is for a Frog to even consider empowering our evil twin in Dallas.

  1. Why do you think that I hate the Big 12? I'm surprised that you'd have that impression after reading my innumerable posts on this thread.
  2. Yeah, UVA and NC teams get screwed in this proposal. Maybe it's because basketball is more important to them anyway?
  3. I'd love to see the TCU-SMU rivalry renewed. Love to have Arky back, too. Screw aggy - we will never beg those gumps to do anything.

Man I missed bickering with you. Glad you opened this topic back up. The BIG XII has been an absolute godsend to TCU. We are competitive in football every other year, we are fantastic in baseball and our basketball team is improving rapidly. If TCU can benefit to such a degree from being granted entry to the conference and we are a tiny, private school imagine what UT could do.
PS, we play SMU every year. We will NEVER allow their entry.

That's true - y'all do play SMU annually. Guess I should tune into that game again someday. We don't need market overlap in DFW.

I'm really impressed by Jamie Dixon and what he's done for Frog basketball so far. Meanwhile, I'm underwhelmed by Shaka Smart. The Steve Patterson curse lives on...
