Big 12 baseball tourney projections

Beating OSU would help our RPI more though, that's the only benefit of playing them tomorrow iMO.

Interested to see who Texas starts tomorrow. Texas might save Thornill for Sunday or Augie may use him early so he can rest for next week.

My guess is that Garrido will start Thornhill and put him on a pitch count. This whole tournament has been managed with next week in mind, so I don't see why that would change.

They could start Cooper, but that increases the chances of playing twice tomorrow and that is something they'll try to avoid at all costs. In fact, if they win comfortably in the early game and are able to balance the pitching load, then I think they'll take a pretty cavalier approach on Sunday.

Big picture is that a win on Sunday probably means more to fans than it does to a club getting ready for Regional play.

Going to be a tough few years I have a feeling for OU. They have some pretty good hitters, but boy are they deficient on the mound.

Need Wheeland to have an extended inning or two and the game to remain close.

So Wheeland is now sitting at something like 80+ pitches in 3 days.  I don't expect to see him tomorrow if we play Ok St.  He got knocked around pretty good. All three batters he faced hit the ball hard.  First batter, rocket shot to SS, backhanded and 6-3; 2nd batter hits a hard single into LCF gap; 3rd batter hits a triple into deep LCF.

It's almost midnight in OKC, and he'd have to come back on little more than 12 hrs rest?  Ain't happening.  Tomorrow doesn't matter much to Ok St. in the grand scheme of things.  They're in the regionals and will likely host.
