Lots of smoke around beers being offered at tomorrow's game at The Disch concession stands. Anyone else hearing this?

I have not heard anything about it but it intrigues me. I've been a little upset at UT not having a series at Dell Diamond anymore. I loved going to check them out and having a cold one....it just felt right.

Nothing wrong with a baseball game, a beer and a hot dog. Seems natural.

Makes no sense why they sell them in the patio area for $8 as well as liquor to only season ticket holders. Just open it up to everyone and make more money. The $8 bucks seems a little steep but it didn't stop me this weekend.

Chip and Chad were discussing it this morning and while UT hasn't confirmed it officially, they've had concession contacts verify they will have their TABC cards with them today. Apparently it's a real possibility at the Erwin center for the BU game tomorrow night as well.

The workers in the patio club Saturday were telling folks that this was happening Tuesday night. This was as of Saturday so things could've changed, but Tuesday was the target date for trying it out.

Sounds like patterson is breaking down the privileges enjoyed by the wealthy and including us common folk for a change

Let's play 2.

Ernie, is that you?

It will be interesting to see how well it works. They're apparently going to start with baseball and basketball and then evaluate for football. the one main fear i have is all of the football tailgating that goes on, especially the all day affairs for night games, then continuing to sell beer in the stands on into the evening. a drunk in the stands next to you is a pretty poor experience, and then there's the drive home.

i guess they'll cut the beer off sometime in the third quarter, but there's still the possibility of drunks hitting the roads. i think that's less likely for baseball and basketball because there's so much less tailgating.

i guess it was inevitable, so i'm ok with things, just worried that we may have an issue after football games. i hope that doesn't happen and that my fears are unfounded.

slim, in a crowd of 100K, there's already guys driving home that have no business behind a wheel whether from tailgating, the NEZ seats, the suites or old reliable...flask in boot. yeah, beer in the stadium may tweak the number up, but my experience is guys who want to get hammered on game day will find a way.

i know the texans cut off sales after the 3rd quarter. i'd guess UT will as well.

my real concern is YOU at the baseball games. if you've had a few cold ones, about the 3rd time Augie bunts a leadoff double to third, it may get ugly.

Important question: Who is the beer sponsor? Are we going local and getting Lone Star or something like Bud or Miller?
