Be ready to be underwhelmed . . . . .

Royal,
Do have no faith or are you simply fanning the fire?
My faith in Patterson making a home run hire fades with the rebuttals of several candidates. I can't believe through all the vetting and, one would hope, extensive research the two best to emerge would be Franklin and Strong. I mean, really? My outside hope is he goes and gets Fisher, but I really don't see that happening. The stars are aligning it would seem for the two afore mentioned in my second sentence. FWIW

Maybe Patterson has an ace in the hole. You know, a little secret that nobody knows.
Guys, I'll say it again. If the past is any indicator, keep an eye out for someone whose name is NOT being mentioned or is hardly being mentioned at all. Or even someone who has said they are not interested or someone that we're being told is not interested. Don't look for the obvious.

Think he would be an excellent hire.. .
A poster here claimed he runs a disorganized program. . .not sure how accurate but if true a concern . ..but not a deal breaker. . .

Been high on Charlie Strong for years . .he certainly closes out the season in impressive fashion.
Eric Nahlin over at IT also expressed his disorganization and a tendency to freeze up under pressure moments in the heat of the game. I can't speak to the accuracy of either, but I would say that a HC at Texas definitely needs to possess great organizational skills--at minimum, it can't be a deficiency for the man

Number of things about Strong I like as well; at this stage and all considered, though, I wouldn't necessarily be that excited about his hiring. Guess we'll see soon enough

Fisher would be doubling his salary.Probably more.

If someone offered you a $4M+ raise over your current salary, wouldnt you at least let them be heard?
It would seem that Sexton should have the financial motivation to make Fisher happen if Saban is happy in podunk.

Hell, if no one wants the job, just give it away. That's what it looks like to me. Strong has succeeded at a second tier conference basketball school. Louisville wasn't even wanted as an addition to the Big 12 and we want their coach? Franklin has done pretty well at a small private school in the SEC. Austin, Texas will eat him alive. There is also the four players charged with rape in June that happened on his watch. Sorry, but I'm not the least bit impressed. But don't really matter, if they are the last ones standing, it'll be their job to have. FWIW

I am terrified this is true. I had a feeling all along. I hope like hell I'm wrong.
