Baylor running thread.

'nother thing.

i see ol' wes over on his site self-flagellating over the sins of baylor. or rather, offering us up for flagellation, as is his wont. seems every time someone get his nuts in a crack we have to pay. i'm getting to where, when i see somebody has done something wrong, i find myself on my knees on the mat, crying: 'hit me. no, harder. i must paaaay.'

what is it with him? doesn't he realize you can't do that every time? you'll lose your focus. i learned timing when i was a kid. when we'd get into rock fights with other kids, at some point i'd pick up two rocks. throw the first one high in a looping arc. the other boys would look at that rock and laugh. 'what do you expect to hit with that lob, dork?' while they looked at the first rock and laughed, i'd throw the second one. that only works one time, i learned. save it for when you need it. with wes it seems like his once-poignant message is becoming a laugher. ol' wes again. diluted and deluded. at some point you begin to wonder if maybe it's he who's in need of some headbolt retorquing.
Huh??? ðŸ˜

good grief.

i see over on a couple of baylor boards where a lot of those folks are pushing a narrative that the board of regents there fabricated a fake summary of the report they received solely for the purpose of ousting briles and getting their way.

i want to go on record here saying i have enormous respect for the university of texas and for the great majority of longhorn fans.  we have our kinks and whistles sometimes, but on the whole this university and this fan base is mighty level-headed compared to what you see around the country.  lots of places around the country.

a huge thank you to the school and thank you, fellow great fans, for showing what college football should be all about.

we aren't perfect by any stretch, but go read those baylor boards right now if you are in need of perspective.

The Higher Education Subcommittee needs to involve itself in the Baylor fiasco. There are some questions that need to be answered.

When the law firm you hire to help you with the public relations of the fiasco begins their statement with Baylor lost institutional control, it implies that there could be much worse. They are employing the bizarro-Trump style of negotiation: Negotiating from weakness.

One way or another, it's not gonna end well for Baylor. I wouldn't step foot in Waco for a long while

Unbelievable that so many at Baylor are blaming Texas for all this. I've seen posts threatening violence at the next Texas-Baylor game in Waco.

Well you know what SHA?? If that's the case for them to rage violence at Texas, it just shows them there true ignorance and stupidity that may display lol upon them lol. Like they don't think recruits don't see this at all what screw ups lol they have become lmao lol..We gonna need popcorn for this lol

i get annoyed when someone congratulates baylor for doing the right thing when it was essentially just doing the only thing.  i do commend the regents for recognizing their situation, however.  plenty, plenty, plenty of the fans there have no idea what position art and a generation of decision-makers put them in.  i also very strongly commend our leadership for the way they handled art when we had a job opening.

there are some excellent people on those boards who try to talk sense into the mob, but it's a bad situation.

i love this game and i've always had a fondness for excellence wherever it occurs.  i wanted briles to be a better man than he was because he had the potential to be a remarkable coach.  if he weren't such a failure as a man he would have had the success he had without creating the awful mess he left behind.  but he probably wouldn't have been at baylor by this point.

A blast from the recent past

very interesting observation by stewart mandel, mayhall.  the baylor people haven't quit painting even though they've been in that corner for a while now.

what i see over and again is the baylor people don't realize what has happened.  they think they can go back to where they were weeks ago just by some expert hand-waving and a couple of smart hires.  that's not the deal.

had this not been the second huge and especially ugly scandal in the slim 16 years so far of this new century, their situation would be very different.  it would be the situation they had in the early mop-up stages of the earlier scandal.  two data points establishes a line, and the whole country - not just the media, baylor dopes - sees the trend.  let's say the direction isn't generally upwards.  anything they do in the reasonable future will be observed with that trendline as a reference, and when the next round of realignment doesn't include a baylor in the headlines, nobody in this country except them will bat an eye.  and they still won't understand why.
