Baylor Fans Think....

I think it's going to be Jimbo.
FSU (and the state) is cash poor. They can't match Texas and they definitely can't match Texas on what his assistants would get. They stalled and dragged their feet a year or so ago on a contract extension and raise. He has reportedly had run-ins with the administration over other things. When he wanted an indoor facility built it took several years.

FSU is the second team in that state. It's only a matter of time until Florida rises again and Miami is on the way.

In Texas, Texas is king. Baylor is humming and Briles is amazing but we can't compete with the history and allure of Texas if they are good to great again. We'll still win some battles but we'll lose more than we win and our percentages will drop with a good HC there.

Jimbo (and everyone else) knows this. If they think they can handle "Texas" then they know they can compete year in year out without a problem. At FSU, that is no guarantee.
They are also worried the right guy makes us king, and admit Briles would have to at least listen if we came calling. Re: Fisher, they make some valid points.

First graph - irrelevant. Substitute the FSU with Baylor or a long, long list of schools and you still have no real reason.

Texas doesn't prey on poor schools, we go get the guy we want.

Second, FSU, 2nd team in state. FSU sustained success longer than either Fla or Miami. No reason they can't do it again.

Last graph - they ALL know this.

Nothing to gain from the Baylor input, IMO.

I texted a friend close to Briles and he felt something was up with Art. Team didnt look prepared and he didnt act the same on the sideline. Less intense and didnt seem as into it as expected.

Who knows?

That is what i saw with Briles. He just did not look or act the same at all.

...maybe it was just a bit of overconfidence. after all, baylor had a 17pt spread...

The George O'Leary factor is why I say Bobby Petrino would be the out-of-the-box hire for Texas. O'Leary has a HUGE chip on his shoulder to restore his reputation and money isn't a factor. Petrino (although an asshole) is in the exact same situation. He wants to open a can of F-You on college football in general and the S$E$C in particular. If I was AD at Texas, I'd hire him in an instant, pay him $1mil (plus incentives) and remind him every day he was lucky to have the chance he has been given. And then I would watch him go nuclear.

One of the pair could end up with an interesting job down the line. Not sure its Petrino. He's not exactly killing it at WKU

Is your objective to destroy all your goodwill and credibility in one post?
