Sean Miller has always recruiting international players. Having a few on the roster each year also has the added benefit of having contributing players who aren't using up any of the available NIL dollars.

Because of their Visas, they are not allowed to participate in work aside from on-campus type jobs or passive NIL (ie being included in the NCAA video game and getting a payout).

I am not sure how being an international player will work in terms of profit sharing? Can they receive a portion of the profit share if on an international visa?

Malik Presley has entered the transfer portal.

Hamilton says Traore is a done deal.

Central Connecticut transfer Devin Haid is down to the following three programs and is expected to make a decision by the end of the weekend, per his agents @noah_reisenfeld and @Adie_vongontard.

Lassina Traore is a 6'10 forward who was hurt all of last season. Averaged a double-double over 2 seasons at Long Beach State University.

Huh? Thought I saw Preseley was to be coming back? No loss since I didn't see him do anything last year.

Hope that Traore if coming here will be healthy when he shows up. We have had to many bigs lately unable to gel with the team due to an injury. Disu injured 2 of the last 3 yrs he was here; while, Sedrick or however his name is spelled, was injured his 1st yr here.
Any updates, @ SHA or @longhorn_mig, or @tejasrulz on him. Most ppl I know that are in or around the athletic department are more into baseball and football right now. They are way more knowledge than most of the $9.95 ppl are.

Advantage for Sean Miller on Traore is that he knows exactly how healthy he is right now since the young man was at Xavier. Hopefully Miller taking him in the portal is a good sign that he will be a healthy contributor next season.

Hey @tejasrulz,

What is the thought with her coking back, ans the 2 leaving via portal? Only asking tejasrulz and if @longhorn_mig knows anything. Feels like a good move for her, but her outside shooting is questionable.
Harmon is a stud and a great fit in Vic's system so great news to have her back. She was very good this past season but if she can return to her form from 2 years ago prior to the injury she's one of the best point guards in the country.

We need to add a big in the portal to replace Taylor Jones. Adding an outside shooter would be great as well. Laila Phelia getting healthy (detached retina) will also help the outside shooting. It was a big deal that we lost her all year.

The two that have transferred out don't have much impact. Jordana Codio got limited action this year and probably not much more next year. Abbie Boutilier is a 6'9 big who could never stay healthy unfortunately.

As @BWilk55 states above, she knows Vic's system and Vic knows/trusts her. She is also one of the best PGs in the nation and with her teaming with Preston, #1, that will give Texas the best PG combo in the nation in my opinion.

I believe the emergence of Lee's season basically is what led Codio to leave since she moved further down the depth chart. Of the returning guards, she would have been the 4th of 5 to come off the bench, not counting our PGs.

As far as Boutilier, it would have been nice had she stayed just for the simple fact there aren't too many 6'9" ladies playing basketball. She needs to stay healthy and work on her speed and agility at the college level to be a good player.

Sounds like Vic picked up another big from the portal. Breya Cunningham, 6'4" PF/C from Arizona, committed to Texas. She is a former 5* and McDonalds All-American player. I don't know much about her from the past year because I didn't really follow that team, but her numbers seem decent and very similar to Taylor Jones last year. Now they need a shooter.

She seems to be a little more athletic than Jones and certainly more athletic than Oldacre. If she can avg about the same and provide solid interior defense then I think Texas found their big replacement for Jones.

So, if Breya can be the same as Jones, with Rori coming back and Phelia can contribute with decent outside shooting, next years team could be even better than this final 4 team. Plus, Lee and Preston will be seasoned and can take another step forward. Also need to mention Booker who I think will step up another level next year and the addition of Crump in the lineup. Good things on the horizon.

Presley isn't in the portal per 247.
