Basketball News/Recruiting Thread

As @BWilk55 states above, she knows Vic's system and Vic knows/trusts her. She is also one of the best PGs in the nation and with her teaming with Preston, #1, that will give Texas the best PG combo in the nation in my opinion.

I believe the emergence of Lee's season basically is what led Codio to leave since she moved further down the depth chart. Of the returning guards, she would have been the 4th of 5 to come off the bench, not counting our PGs.

As far as Boutilier, it would have been nice had she stayed just for the simple fact there aren't too many 6'9" ladies playing basketball. She needs to stay healthy and work on her speed and agility at the college level to be a good player.
Thank tejasrilz for the update. I don't read or care what bwilk says. That is why I asked you. I had heard of these 2, but they didn't seem to play much, which is why I asked you about them. You know more on the women's basketball than I do or my friends

Presley isn't in the portal per 247.
I did see that he is actually in the 247 portal earlier Sunday. Weird though. He was considered a player that they could use. At least most around the program had stated. Whatever. We need as many solid players to help fill rolls with both size and talent. We need to make certsin that ours bigs are healthy, MAJOR ?? TROARE, despite what some say. A soft big is what I see from the 7'0" coming in name Matas ?something. Asking 2 RS freshmen and true freshman big to help these guys. With small guards unless Mark is moved to 2 guard. I need to see mkre guard movement, IMO. Otherwise just like last yr. With a 25% NIL increase from what RT had. Need to see improvement all around. Or thr NIL stsrts lowering easily if you know the TOF donors. I mean RT had a NIL that was considered close to Alabama and Florida and better than most that were higher rated than us most of the year.

Miller got another big man. I think we already knew this was happening. Lassina Traore!

"At 6-10, 245 pounds, Traore is an elite rebounder that would help address one of Texas' biggest weaknesses from this past season. He averaged 11.9 points during his last season at Long Beach State while his 10.3 rebounds per game was tied for ninth-most in the country. Getting him on campus is a major development for a Texas team that's still finalizing the roster."

You need better friends amigo! ;)

Hard to say how good they can be but this feels like a more well rounded team. Wish we had an above avg PG but this looks like a top 25 team maybe even sweet 16 caliber with upside.
I don't know. The college BB game is reliant on good guard play. We need a couple of more guards, preferably a good PG, then I think we are a sweet 16 team. Better team? Yes, just not sure how much better.

We are definitely guard deficient right now. If anyone gets in foul trouble it could be a long night. I’d agree with at least one more guard
