So, my son and I were sitting here tonight, contemplating his "walk-up" song for the games next week.

A couple of his choices:

"Shotgun" Randy Rogers Band

"House Is Rockin" Stevie Ray Vaughn

"Wear my Ring" Bart Crow

"Swing" Trace Adkins

I know we have some musically inclined folks here, so what do y'all got.

"Sultans of Swing" would be a good choice.

Other options could be

"Ain't no fence high enough"

"Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be 1st basemen"

"That's just the way Ball goes"

"Stairway to Center Field"

Seriously though, how could you not walk up with Metallica's "Wherever I may roam?" lol

Metallica was discussed. Enter Sandman is being used by another player.

I'll throw that one out there to him. Thanks.

JB, now your cooking with grease.

Love Limelight. That would be great.

Boy said last night that he is looking for something less known/less commercial. And he wanted to focus more on something Texas country with a chorus that made sense and was somewhat up tempo.

I suggested "Pissin' In The Wind" by Jerry Jeff but was voted down. :)

I've always been a fan of Lose Yourself or Till I Collapse by Eminem...doesn't quite meet the criteria, but still worth a shout out

If you want to see a ball player get serious, ask him about walk up music. B)

If it's allowed, "Raise Some Hell" by Dirty River Boys fits his criteria.

"Fly like an eagle"

or

" take the money and run"

By the Steve Miller Band.

ps. Steve Miller grew up in Dallas and briefly attended the University of Texas.

I like Bad to the Bone, George Thorogood. It seems to have the right rhythm and punch, but who knows. Just listened to it, and I couldn't find anything that was imo offensive, but you never know. My kiddo graduated from a hs with great playoff tradition, lots of state final appearances and multiple state champ. It was always nice to have music with a punch in the 9th inning of the 3rd game of a 3 game series.

Anything by Willie, is very Texas (Austin), but can't think of one with the punch. Beyonce (Texas artist), but can't think of anything with the punch.

I'm coming up empty tonight.

Go tough or go home.

As lead singer Lemmy says, "My name is Motorhead, and we play Rock & Roll."
