Bad news on Saban

I feel dumb for buying in so much on the rumors that the insiders were posting as though it were a done deal. Freaking ridiculous. I can't stand our athletic department. I really hope Powers lets Patterson do his thing. I'm thinking Powers needs to go too.

Well, you are assuming Patterson wants or is prepared to force Mack Brown out. There doesn't seem to be any reliable support or strong circumstantial evidence for such an assumption.

agree and others have mentioned this as well. Patterson was hired because he didnt mind getting dirty in the Mack situation if need be. Luck was hands off

I like Bill but if we hired Patterson and don't let him act, then we hired the wrong guy. If the culture is so great then Luck should have been the hire. It would have been a better choice then.

To hire a guy to run a business unit and then block him from properly doing just that - no matter how painful to some - is the Mack Brown way of doing things writ large. In that case UT doesn't get another dime from me for the foreseeable future and I will call Powers and tell him just that on Monday. Or probably his voicemail.

Door should be wide open to remove Mack and I didn't see or hear anything today from Saban that would indicate he's still not in play. After sitting in 27 degree weather to watch Case suck mule dick, I'm quite ready to get Mack and Major the F out of Austin.......immediately.

I think most of us agree that a coach who ACTUALLY COACHES as opposed to being a CEO who sits in his office dreaming of ways to make young athletes his "friends" would go a long way toward restoring Texas to glory.

IT has Bama sources saying Saban signed an extension last night. They dont have confirmation from the Texas side

There is some evidence to the contrary, and it is really difficult to discern what is true and what isn't, these days. Did it happen? Possibly, but I would wait until Saban, himself, announces it.

Good. I had had that feeling about Mack Brown back in 2001. Applewhite was a reasonably good QB then (far better than Case McCoy now, a non-player in my opinion). But my opinion of Applewhite went south when I heard him say " ... a win is a win ... " on camera in defense of an ugly, narrow escape from a vastly inferior team. For days I argued with some fans on ESPN msg board over my prediction that Applewhite would be mediocre later in life with that kind of mentality and low standard for himself and his teammates. Now Applewhite has vindicated my assessment from 12 years ago.

if the banquet is over and mack hasnt announced, that the end for me. im hoping monday.
