Ash has injured his hamstring

hornsnation ‏@espnhornsnationour man @thatsean with the news that ash's hamstring was just a strain and he is day-to-day #hookem #longhorns
nice.

Is confirmed by UT spokesman that David Ash strained his hamstring today but it's not serious and is day to day. Still chasing something with this to reconfirm something. As soon as I get confirmation I will post it.

As good as it could be.

This could spell some doom were it to linger for a while. Hamstring hit people in different way but it's good that the first thought is just a strain.

Here is what I've been able to track down:

Texas QB David Ash sustained what Texas is calling a "strained" hamstring today during a team workout. Ash sustained the injury while running sprints with his teammates. Although Texas is classifying the injury as a "strain" and lists him day to day, there are some who fear that Ash may indeed have a small tear in his hamstring.

It will be interesting to see if Texas handles this the same way they handled Jordan Shipleys hamstring injury years back. At that time it was listed as a strain and day to day but Shipley missed the season.

HornSports.com will keep a close watch on the situation as it develops.

Just no telling with these types of injuries. Adams reported that it was a day to day injury but the extent of the injury won't be known for a while. Even if not torn a pulled hamstring can linger for miles......

The injury to Ash is significant because let's face it, he isn't worlds better than Case and isn't a superior athlete. He needs reps and if he misses any time, it hurts us.

The question is this: Do we win less games with Case McCoy at QB than we would with Ash?

I don't know but Case is the only one that has led game winning drives for us. 2-1 in games decided by 4 points or less, all with Case at the end. I don't have all the answers but as long as one QB steps up, I don't care.

This Ash injury is precarious. There is fear that the hammy is partially torn but details are being kept extremely quiet.

When will this coaching staff learn that neither of the starting quarterbacks are the answer? They need to go to Connor Brewer immediately and forego any playing time Ash or McCoy would occupy this season. This is the University of Texas, not the University of North Texas. Time to start acting like the best program in the country, not the 4th best program in the conference. I have had it up to my neck with the complacency over the last few years and we need to put a stop to it.
