Some are saying he is Patterson's leader in the clubhouse. Also stating Patterson is very concerned about being played by Sexton and team.

Could be a great hire, but was looking to land a bigger fish.

The truth of the matter is like what was posted in Crossfire- Patterson is intrigued by Strong. That being said, if the BMD camps can't get behind Strong as their preferred candidate as HC then there is no way Patterson goes lone wolf on this hiring alone. It would be political and career suicide.

How would Sexton be playing Patterson? Fisher, Saban, and Malzahn have all gotten raises/extensions already this year, they aren't going to be getting more raises. If Sexton is talking, someone on the other side is legitimately interested.

I would not be so sure of that. Look at his history. He does it a lot.

Flightaware shows a LearJet registered in Marble Falls, left Austin Exec yesterday, 2 quick stops in SA and Houston and then ended up in Louisville, Ky. Then returned last night about 650pm.

Interesting about Strong. However, I wonder about your Patterson contention. Being a long time Houston resident and following Patterson throughout his career, mostly the Aeros and the Rockets, I got the impression that Patterson is pretty much his own man. He strikes me as a guy that will politely listen to opinions, but the final choice will be his and not some BMD or regent. Like every one has said, this choice will be career defining for him and he will never make everyone happy anyway. I bet he makes a choice that might go against the grain, but one that he is convinced he can sell and that will turn the program around.

I agree. Not saying it would be smart but son't be surprised if Patterson does what he wants and hires who he wants. He will do his own thing. I am form Houston too and he has always operated that way. He is not scared of anyone and could careless about being fired.

Burton says that Howe was at the airport and Patterson did NOT get off that plane. He says Texas could have a reason they want that info out there. I believe that he is right about this.

I hope you are right… Strong might kill it, but others would surely kill it.
