They resigned during the looting. They weren't needed then because those were just peaceful protests. Now they're needed again for more serious things like parking violations.

I would laugh, but it's too sad for the people who live there and didn't vote for the clowns running the circus there. Like the people who didn't vote for the Stephen King "IT" clowns in Washington but still have to suffer the terrible consequences.
