Interestingly enough, I thought he was a great teacher of fundamentals. That's why he put so many guys in the NFL.
He was not that good when it came to the overall scheme. Even in some of our good years, we gave up a lot of yards in the passing game.

I also thought when it came to playing zone, he wasn't the best there either.

He did not teach fundamental tackling worth a damn.

My seats at DKR are right up from where Akina and the DB's sit when they come off the field. Wow, you talk about an entertaining show! Good play or bad, it was more fun to watch him go off than the game itself

I sincerely thank coach Akina for his service and ability to make Texas "DBU". That being said, our secondary has taken a severe turn for the worse in the last few years and I think change will be good.

Stanford: Per source, David Shaw has offered the defensive backs job to former Texas defensive backs coach Duane Akina. At this point, Akina has not accepted the job and will decide at some point during the next couple of weeks. David Shaw is willing to be patient despite the fact that Stanford begins spring practice today.

Not sure I follow you. Mack Brown is, without doubt, the most awesome person I've ever met. Mack did more for more people, without ever looking for credit, than anyone I've ever known. And if you met him one time, he remembered it a year later when you saw him again.

I've met Mack and I liked him. The man oozes charm and is the consummate salesman. Mack is a man that could sell an upgraded icemaker to the refrigerator he just sold an Eskimo. He's that good. That is why he was called Mr. February.

The problem was that Mack became wealthy, famous and entitled -and he aged and lost his fire. Football was not the love for him it used to be and he was tired of working 60 hours a week.

Would we be any different under the same conditions?
