I take all reports with a grain of salt and it is difficult to get a grasp on the coaching search with all the reports out there. That said I am leaning to the latter that it really is what's going and Strong/Briles/Franklin are all candidates for the job.

I think they are all contingencies in the event that A, B, C, & D fall through. He has to wait for NS to say no. Why not fill the time and cause distractions with back up options?

Sure they are... It's part of a big hiring process. It's like a bass fishing tournament. You fish some area's where you know you can get a limit on 3-4 lb'ers quick and then you head out to deep water looking for maudine.

I know someone close to the situation. He informed yesterday that Steve Patteson is very secretive. He went on to say that only Steve knows who is really on the list of candidates. The BMD's are giving names/suggestions/ support but are leaving the decision to Steve in order to maintain unity among the fan base. Just passing on information shared with me.

I believe Saban is still the first choice, make him say no again. Fisher and Harbaugh/Briles after Saban.
