A Look at Possible New Staff

I'm sure he knows him. They all lived in Jester together. My cousin played on that team is how I figured out who LotusHorn was and sent him a message on 247 to confirm.
He definitely seems legit on Strong intel. I will be paying attention to his posts moving forward. He says the RB coach is coming last I read.

Klemm is a gamechanger. Like he and Orgeron take back the state by Sophomore Days.
To put into perspective how good of a recruiter is, Klemm came in during the beginning of the dead period after the 2011 season. He had about 5 weeks to work before NSD, only about 3 could he actually talk with kids. He earned Pac12 Recruiter of the Year in those three weeks. What could he do here before NSD?

He also started multiple TF (I think 3) on his OL and beat USC handily.

He's the biggest home run we can hit as far as recruiting IMO. Problem is that he sounds like he's a west coast guy and we'd be hard pressed to get him out of LA. Worth a shot at least.
He does a good job of recruiting Texas.

6 UCLA commits played in the AA game today. Klemm is worth a shot. I think he turned down USC last month. Sark wanted him on staff.

His uncle went to Texas (may have even played here). We're not in the position A&M is, but we're much much better than they think we are. A&M isn't in the position they think they're in either.
Yeah, you could say his uncle played here. If by that you mean consensus All-American as well as 4-5 years in the league out here with the Giants.

I met his parents (Calvin's) a couple of times at reunions and a few games. Really good people. As is Calvin.

If not Porter...

I would take a look at Desoto HC Claude Mathis

All state running back at Bartlett and played college ball at Texas State

The reasons to have him on staff are obvious and similar to Mack when got Chambers. Knows the landscape of Texas especially the DFW area.

You pull any two of Porter, Klemm, Brewster or Orgeron and you're probably locked and loaded. Closers.

It is past time for the Applewhite era to come to a close. I'm surprised he'd make anyone's list, even as a position coach. The sad part is he'd probably take a big demotion because his wife flat has no interest in leaving Austin.

I can't imagine anyone being in play outside of Wyatt or Porter. Giles just does not recruit well enough for his position. And Bedford gives you that UT connection.

Anyone else still hearing the rumor of Akina and the ags? Just won't completely die.

Haha thanks for filling in the pieces, he's a little before my time.

LOVE Mathis. I think that he'd be in the same company as Wyatt and Porter as a recruiter. Dude could lock down NTX if given a chance, kids love him.

What about Bill Napier - WR coach and a very good recruiter for Bama. He makes $375k, we could double that with an recruiting coordinator title.

Also, LSU RB coach Frank Wilson would be great.

Some great names, Brewster, Orgeron, Wickline/Klemm, Napier, Mathis/Porter - we could be in business by Jan 15 and do some damage in 3 weeks.

I think both of those are good, even great names. I'd be on board with Frank Wilson but not with Napier. Keeping Wyatt is extremely important because him being retained probably will land us Damarkus Lodge and Siverand. Also gets us in it for Newsome and the other names that are going to emerge in the next month since it's combine season. Should also help us keep Hemphill, can't stress enough how important it is to keep him.

From AAS:

Sources tell @Horns247 and @GatorBait247 Stacy Searels will be named #Gators OL coach as early as Sunday. #HookEm #UT #Longhorns

Any names, throw them out here.
OC - Tom Herman

OL/Running Game Coordinator - Joe Wickline

TE/RC - Tim Brewster

WR - Darrell Wyatt

RB - Ricky Williams or Major Applewhite

Bedford did not coach the secondary at Louisville

DC - Vance Bedford

DL/RC - Ed Orgeron

LB/ST - Mike Tressel

DB - Ron Cooper
Change RB to Porter

This is just my personal opinion, but I think Coach Strong should keep Wyatt, Porter, Akina and maybe Giles. Then bring in Bedford and Moorer from UL, grab Bob Bostad from FA, hit a homerun with Herman or Montgomery. Also find the best TE/ST coach available.

Guys we could consider as assistants and their current positions and salary:

coming from UL

Vance Bedford - Texas-Ex - UL DC - $500k

Brian Jean-Marry - UL LB - $255k

Tim Brewester - we know him well - FSU TE & Recruiting coordinator - $290k

Tom Herman - UT grad assistant in 99-00 - tOsu OC & QB coach - $550k

Scott Frost - Oregon OC/QB - $368k

James Coley - Miami OC/QB - $500k

Joe Wickline - Ok St running game coordinator & OL - ?

Adrian Klemm - UCLA Running game coordinator & OL - $350k

Billy Napier- WR Bama but has also been a TE coach multiple paces - $375k

Ed Orgeron - USC interm HC, assistant HC, DL, Recruiting coordinator - $1.2million

Tavaris Robinson - Florida DB - $300k

current guys we might keep:

Darrell Wyatt - co-OC, co-recruiting coordinator, WR - $525k

Larry Porter - RB - $321k

SirHornsAlot- I wrote that over on OBs. Not sure if it is the one you are referencing but thanks for remembering.
