a little feedback upon malik's weekend aTm visit.. he loves their beautiful facilities!

Monarch, a pal of mine sends you a facilities update. . . . try to contain yourself. lol

Plans are to enclose the south end zone of the stadium using luxury boxes/suites and additional seating as well as upgraded locker room.

However, this will not get underway until after the basketball arena is built and also after an academic assistance program, modeled after LSU's, is launched. Apparently, there will be a large academic center exclusively for UT athletes that they can go to 24/7-365 and get help and assistance with their academics. After that, DKR will get underway.
contain myself!  are you serious mark...  my good pal, surely you are hereby aware that i completely appreciate any and all acquired insider information.  simply due to the very fact that i know that it is not always easy to acquire in the first place.  however, steve patterson, has repeatedly reiterated to any and all... that the new basketball arena shall not become conceptualized / constructed until about 6 to 8 years upon the near future.  nonetheless, these past few months, patterson's blue chip designing groups have been hard at work creating / conceptualizing / and preparing plans as per the new SEZ expansion / athletic facilities renovation.

please recall mark, that i am a serious stalwart upon many many forums.  therefore, i am able to acquire bits and pieces of our forthcoming facilities insight from a burgeoning array of other forum stalwarts.  since the OB is considered the largest forum due to it's magnificent members enrollment... there are always many dedicated threads pertaining just for new facilities insight.  you would probably be shocked at the number of TEXAS fans that are clamoring for our new facilities plans / renderings / concepts to come forth.   since you are a member of the OB, then i shall take the liberty of presenting to you the name of one of the most popular stalwarts that is actually an out of state business acquaintance of steve patterson.  (nuufaola) have you heard of him? this gentleman is keenly aware as per many of the inner circle activities pertaining to our new facilities.

upon arriving back to new york, as per the west virginia game... nuufaola, took the initiative to answer many of our queries concerning facilities.  trust me mark, i am certain that i harbored the most queries of the group.   however, the powers that be... are still trying to decide upon whether or not if they are going to completely tear down moncrief.  patterson, would like the new SEZ to be comprised of shops / restaurants / suites / coaches offices / recruitment areas / special seating / new jumbotron etc... he is not a big fan of trying to compete with aTm in regards to the seating count. however, there are many bmd's that are also involved as per the planning... this particular faction, is not so keen with the mall like concept.  they would like to see us out do aTm in regards to the seating arrangements.  they feel that if we are going to spend millions constructing this new edifice.. then it should become the largest stadium in TEXAS... maybe the nation.

additionally, and the reason that i am a bit concerned as per your new revelations... is due to the fact that the new plans / concepts.. as per the new SEZ expansion / renovation as well as the new athletics facilities are supposed to be finalized and revealed towards the end of the season or possibly towards the early months of the new year.  there is going to be a massive fund raising campaign... and the construction commences.  we are actually looking at a time frame of up to a little over two years before overall completion.

the new basketball arena, is slated as i stated earlier... for about 6 to 8 years away.  the projected cost of this facility alone is already slated as ($500 million) hopefully with the city of austin sharing the cost.

please my pal, offer your friend a thank you upon my behalf as per his generosity.  however, i think that his facilities insight is a bit limited / misinformed.  please trust me mark, there is no way that the coaches / players / fans / patterson and everyone else is going to wait upwards 10 years or so for new athletics facilities that are beyond badly needed.. as well as badly needed upgrades / expansion to DKR.  the time is now!

Well, you keep clamoring for facilities information so I thought I'd help you out. Sounds to me like you didn't need info at all.

But I'll be sure to set Jesus straight for ya. lol

Steve Patterson is a hoops guy. The need for an arena is larger than a need for expansion at DKR. However, you mentioned 6-8 years and that's not the time frame I was told. Much faster, much sooner. For all three.

Our hoops program will grow leaps and bounds with Patterson around.

After the last two games, the factions of DFW, Houston and San Antonio are about as close to being on the same page as they've been in some time. Funds are going to flow, soon. Strong has convinced them all. They're on board for the long run.

There's other stuff regarding BOR that will enable Patterson to finally swing for the fences. I won't go into all those plans but you can read them in yesterday's Humidor.

I'm not on OB, haven't been over there in a year. Tell the gang (minus Jabba the Hut) I said hi and I miss them though. Well, most of them. And you're right, Nuffala (sp?) is straight up gospel. But I don't see anything that he said that was out of line with what I said, except for perhaps the order of things. Either way, you are far more interested in this subject than I am. I'd watch my Horns play in a pasture, if I needed to.

well now you can see why i am always clamoring for information... sometimes monkey wrenches get thrown in out of nowhere.  oh well, at least you have heard of nuufaola.  this particular OB stalwart and along with a few other insiders... are really pushing this facilities agenda big time. so many fans have become so very disenchanted as per the overall TEXAS game day presentation / experience.  it has really become somewhat a disgrace to many fans.  jesus, normally is very keen upon his insight... but something here is really amiss!  my OB pals would be just as stunned as i am right now.

we were all under the dire impression, that the erwin center redevelopment.. was always indicative as per the dell medical hospital construction timeline.  oh well, thanks again my pal.  i guess within a few months we shall find out....

I'll tell you what, I'll see if I can find out more.

I've also heard of the tie-in with the medical complex. Our own Randolph Duke is a big advocate of that idea I think.

This is not something I've kept up with very well so believe me when I say what I've said was just what I've heard recently. But again, I'll keep asking questions.

Based on the above post it seems Monarch already has an enormous amount of insight on the facilities upgrade question that is frequently complained about on this board. Thanks for the info Mark and Monarch, we will see how it all shakes out.

wow...that was long. (chorus: 'that's what she said')

how does one become a stalwart? i think i'd be good at it if given the opportunity.

1. I said there would be a recruiting surprise toward the end of the cycle. That's specific, not vague. Did I give you a name? No. But if I had, would it be a surprise any longer? Two days ago you had no idea something like that would happen. Now, you do. And you didn't have to put salt on anything.

2. I do not understand what your point is about right and wrong. If we do not have a surprise at the end of the cycle, then he's wrong. When we do, he's right. Please explain what's difficult to understand about that?

3. I'm not trying to sneak anything by you or anyone else. I BEGAN the post by saying I would limit what I would say.

I don't know about the poking fun thing. If that's fun, I'll just have to take your word for it.

I'm fairly certain stuff like this is why insiders left OB. You can't say anything without there being a contentious incident coming from it.

I can always post it somewhere else if it's too upsetting to do so here.
First, let me say that if you consider anything that I posted or said to be contentious then please accept my apology.

So now we know that it was Cecil Cherry you were talking about. News about him have been swirling for at least a week so I'm not sure how much what you posted qualifies as a surprise. And not sure why so much suspense when you could go to at least 2-3 sites and gather quite a bit of information about his recruitment over the past week.

As far as why insiders left OB, IMHO they left because they were "wannabe" insiders and when people didn't blindly accept what they were saying they got out of Dodge. Again, just my humble opinion. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at McDonalds. I think.
