1. Congrats to MBB on a great win against OSU. There were some youthful mistakes by our Longhorns or the margin would have been greater. Way to go, men.

2. I love what Herman is doing. His intelligence, organizational prowess, and ability to delegate are already on display. It doesn't appear that he has let a minute go to waste. Someone is sifting through miles of tape, running it by other coaches, and showing the promising candidates to him. We are making some quality 2017 and 2018 offers. Many of those offers were made without 2 main coaches in Austin until about a week ago. Of course, those coaches may very well have been consulted, but I doubt seriously that film of any went to them % another school. 😉

3. In his free time, he has managed to review facilities and prioritize upgrades. I would imagine this was done in an organized, thorough manner, leaving nothing to chance. He has, from the beginning, requested more support staff. I'm quite certain he knows the duties each would perform, as well as, their direct report.

4. His press conference was impressive. He didn't look like a good 'ole boy head coach. He looked like a man who knew where he was going and how he was going to get there. At Texas, he has the resources to make it happen and quickly. Anyone who underestimates him, is a fool.

He is young, smart, energetic, focused, motivated, and well-educated. I also think he is very good at sharing his vision. He's made a believer out of me.

p.s. Apologize for any typos, wrote this on my phone.

GOSH hope you are correct on all counts. My main concern is OC "but" I am going to be open minded and give Beck and everyone else a fair chance ! I was sure Wrong about CS -- Lets get behind them 110% !!

My impression of Herman as the HC is much different from the CS regime. I liked Charlie and still do but, it's obvious that Herman and his staff is very different. Herman has a 'CEO' feel about him. Certainly seems to understand much more than X's and O's when it comes to running the football program.

It's not Rocket Surgery....

Herman will win here.  He is smart, detail oriented, obsessed with trust in assistant coaches.  He mentioned trust in his staff helps him sleep at night.  We needed a coach who can dissect issues and fix them.

I agree, fellows. He has a plan.

I recall reading at one time that some of our Presidents really struggle because they get bogged down in the little things. I was impressed that Herman has put his plan in motion, and it appears it may have started on the way to Austin. I kid, but he probably did start evaluating the minute he entered the building. I doubt that he will rarely let himself be distracted from the task at hand. The next step, if you will.

I also believe that if something isn't working, he will know about it pdq.

Just my opinion, but I'm impressed, and I liked Charlie, too.
