A few coaching search thoughts

we have to ask ourselves right now is what is right and what is wrong? Well don't ask me because I am as confused as many of you. Now I do have a few thoughts about Strong.

1.Did we really just go through on the trouble & blood to get rid of Mack Brown to hire Charlie Strong? I say no

2. Have all the top tier candidates said no & we are settling for Strong? I say no

3. Would we hire Strong over Briles? I say no

4. Will Patterson risk everything on Strong? I say no (even though I have said Patterson will do what he wants)

5. Now the realty. What if everyone we ask in tier one says no? Well lets get real no probable but it could happen & we have to realize UT may not be job we all think it is. I know that hurts but hey with all due respect I don't see top tier one guys beating the door down to be here. For example We're still waiting on Saban to say yes or no.

6. So if it's Strong I would think that Saban, Harbaugh, Fisher, Briles, and maybe a few others have said no. (I hope we made them say no)

7. Strong would most likely do well at UT but I am not sure we are in a position to take this risk right now.

With that said: Prepare for meltdown

It's probably Strong.

You haven't flipped flopped. That's the insiders that have named every coach except my tball coach as a leading candidate for the job. I'll just wait until it strolls on the ticker at ESPN. Patterson sealed up the ship and no one outside of him knows what he is doing.

Actually in most instances I am not. But in regards to Texas athletics I have become one. I am just jaded right now due to recent history with decisions being made by those in Bellmont.

Flip flop about candidates wasn't what I meant, sorry.

Those conclusions don't lead me to think it's Strong. We aren't even sure that he's interviewed and even if he has, Briles hasn't and Saban hasn't finished his year. Neither has Fisher. If it's next Thursday and all of those have turned us down, then I'll think it's Strong but I think he's pretty far down the list. FWIW, and that's almost nothing, I don't get the feeling any of those guys have said no.

Yep, nailed it. Didn't phrase it right and it wasn't meant as a slight just that I don't think we can really react one way or the other right now. But that's just what I think and I could very well be wrong.

I really hope not but I think if he was going to say yes he would already be here. But really I have no idea. I guess there is still a chance until we get an official no.
