Who is #4? Stanford.

Agreed. But that is my point. While i don't disagree with you entirely.
In fairness MSU would not have played Stanford if it were a playoff year so no would have known to complain.

What will be eliminated will the sluggish starts that these schools face..If Div 2, Div 3, NAIA, and FCS, then the big boys can too..It will take a little while but it will get pushed to 8 games shortly. It will be one of those compromises to keep the Big 4 Super conferences from forming and then breaking away.

Agree 100%. We don't need a watered down product. Quality over quantity. No more than 8. Regular season needs to continue to mean something. Losing 1 and you have to worry, losing 2 and its our of your hands. 4 Superconferences = 4 conference champions in a 4 team playoff. nothing else needed.
I don't think a 16 or 24 team playoff would be watered down at all, I think it would make March Madness look smallAgree 100%. We don't need a watered down product. Quality over quantity.
Great point. If bowl games are done away with, I can see the possibility of 16 to 24 playoff. Top 8 teams have a bye in 1st round or something along that line.I don't think a 16 or 24 team playoff would be watered down at all, I think it would make March Madness look small
The regular season would be even more important because the bowls go away, get in the tournament or go home, non of the oh wow we won the Alamo Bowl look how great we are.
In college football a 3 or 4 loss team doesnt deserve to be champion. it the greatest game so i dont think watered down is the right word for it but if its a 16/24 team playoff a UCLA, LSU, Wisconsin, UCF dont deserve a shot this year. The regular season should matter in college football. You should still have to pressure of not wanting to lose 1 or max 2 games or you will be out of it. 8 is max.I don't think a 16 or 24 team playoff would be watered down at all, I think it would make March Madness look small

Bull chit The top 16 for sure would be worthy and I think 24 would be near ideal. With no bowls the competition to make it into the playoffs would be intense. The top 24 teams would be excellent and there would only occasionally be a 3 loss team. Look at some the teams that have played in the BCS the past few yrs, Hawaii, U Conn etc. what nonsense, in the playoffs you wouldn't get to the big games unless you earned it.In college football a 3 or 4 loss team doesnt deserve to be champion. it the greatest game so i dont think watered down is the right word for it but if its a 16/24 team playoff a UCLA, LSU, Wisconsin, UCF dont deserve a shot this year. Keep the regular season meaningful as possible. Also, SOS needs to be one of the biggest factors.
