My first year at Texas as a student. Truely fun times.I remember carrying a radio outside, and listening to Texas games while shooting hoops. Same timeframe as you. My Texas fandom began Earl's senior year (1977?) Fred Akers first year at Texas....
We drove our 1968 white Ford Fairlane station wagon downtown and I rung a cowbell out the window. Austin was a lot smaller back then. As a 10 year old boy, it seemed the entire city was celebrating.The first game I remember watching on TV was the 1969 Arkansas game. After the game car horns were honking all over Austin.
