I don't understand why we're re-evaluating the LB position? Why are we not taking the likes of House? Or anyone else for that matter? Is the pool of LBs this year that bad?

 House just committed to Washington

Wait, did I just lose 2.5 weeks of my life?  Is today July 15th?

I gotta believe the staff isn't enamored with this years HS class at LB.  They got a great haul last year and probably feel more comfortable picking up a transfer or 2 next year instead of taking up a spot on a developmental target this year.  Load up on interior lineman (OL and DL) and regroup next year at the position.  Now, if a prospect like Justin Williams wants in then you take him.

That's a reflection of a few things like who they took last year, two targets they liked (Daniels, Williams) choosing to go elsewhere and not scheduling an official with another (Uini).

The staff will adjust their strategy if they don't land Baker and/or Calhoun.

Good question. My guess is that their priority targets weren't coming here and they may not have been thrilled about options c, d and e

Seems Texas gave him a definitive no, so he didn't waste time committing elsewhere.

Good question. My only thought is they took 4 (maybe more based on best position fit) last year at a position where they only need 2 a year. So they feel okay on numbers. And don't want to give one of those guys a reason to transfer.

Then they missed on their top targets and were left with some high 3 star targets that they didn't feel great about ever contributing. So instead of taking a guy to take him they decided to wait and see if someone rises their senior year.

That is the only way to spin it IMO. Missed on top ones. Refusing to settle for blah. Figure it out later.

I count Hill, Gullette, Lefau, and Burrell. Plus Akana and McDonald could end up there.
A lot of talent, but young. I'm banking on them looking for a transfer with some games under his belt to fill the experience gap.

Okay, I've seen Kibbles listed at 6'2 and again somewhere else at 6'5

Anyone know which it is?
