2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Read where Roach thinks he's got designs on going out of state. Of course it's Roach, but in one post Uinini said he might put Texas in for an OV since the NCAA approved unlimited trips. That is troubling, IMO.

I really like the "pool" of OL recruits the staff has decided to pursue. We won't get them all but we just need to get to a number anyway.

You're right though, and both RBs we're pursuing are OOS. Weird that we didn't go after someone in Texas.

Yes lots of very good recruits out there. Shouldbe intresting how it all plays out. I look for a small class 15 to 20 should be about right.

If that holds true, then that means we have a healthy number of experienced players on board.

Starting talent has been around in the past. Difference now is second team talent more depth.

14 srs. and a few pros. is why I think class ill besmall. 4 portals so forcould be a few more. Time will tell.

Carter gave a few quotes to On3:

“They really like my speed coming off the edge,” Carter told On3. “I definitely got that vibe that they want me. I’m definitely going to be back this summer.”

“I got a warm welcome there,” said Carter, the No. 211 overall prospect and No. 19 EDGE in the 2024 On300. “It was just good vibes with each coach. They were telling me how it is to be a football player at the University of Texas.”

“I’ve heard that everything’s bigger in Texas, so I expected that going in,” Carter said. “It definitely met that expectation. It was a huge campus, huge facility, huge everything.”

“He (Bijan Robinson) told me he was from Tucson,” Carter said. “It was actually great seeing him and I just wished him luck on his adventure to the NFL.”

“He just said, ‘Texas is the place to be’ and that it’s good over there and it’s a good program,” he added. “He said that it will make me better every day, make me a better football player.”

“It was great,” Carter said. “The people out there are very welcoming. It’s just good vibes out there. Downtown was great, the campus was great. It was definitely a warm, chill vibe.”

Yeah, hard to tell if it's Uini or Texas that's a little standoffish right now.

Maybe both, but the staff obviously feels confident with their targets.

Quotes from Weedon via IT.

His head coach and LBs coach made the trip to Austin with him.

“It was great,” Weedon told Inside Texas. “I loved everything, the city of Austin, the university and the program. I have talked to Coach Choate ever since Coach PK offered me. Coach Choate was just breaking down how they run the program, and what to expect, and how I would fit into the defense.”

“I talked with Keilan Robinson,” Weedon said. “He was just telling me it was a great city to go to college. And a great city and college for networking. And the city was great. The people were nice. They showed me the networking possibilities.”

“They said the date they want to me in is June 16-18,” Weedon said. “We are working on getting that locked in.”

More on OL Michael Uini from 247...

Roach had a source tell them the most positive reaction to spring game weekend came from Uini, and he's close to putting in a crystal ball for Texas despite the talk that he and Texas aren't necessarily on the same page.

I had rather take Uini now than wait until fall and might miss on the Cali. guys. He is bigger!  better?

I'm sure Coach Flood got some good info on him when visiting his high school yesterday.

But even if he's trending Texas, I wonder if he's high enough on the staff's board to take right now when firmly in the race for other great OTs.
