Very good crop of DB's and DE's in Texas this year.

Hey SHA, think might get straight answer from you. It looks lime horns are not recruiting lot top talent  nationally.  I look thru the 247 ratings, I only counted about 30 they were recruiting out of top 200.

Interesting note from TFB that communication with Texas has fallen off a bit.

Smith seems like a kid we should land.  Curious what the plan at LB may be?  We are in the top group for Justin and Dylan Williams, but maybe not #1 currently.  Peyton Smith is an enigma, seems like an OOS kid.  Not going to question Choate after last year's haul. We shouldn't be losing guys to an aggy team that went 5-7 in year five of Dumbo the savior.

Looking through Texas offer list, it looks like they are going after multiple (2-5+) top 10 targets at every position. I don't necessarily get the sense that they aren't going after top talent regardless of state.

I had to put some numbers to it. Here ya go:

5 top 200 CBs

8 top 200 Ath

3 top 200 QBs

2 top 200 IOL

10 top 200 LBs

7 top 200 Edges

13 top 200 DL

That's 85 of the top 200 players

UT staff does not agree with the ratings with regard to several players who are highly ranked. The DT from Melissa is one example. The DE from Allen is another. Lots of players are overhyped right now.

I don't think we've had a problem identifying talent.

He expects him to take his recruitment through the summer.

Worth mentioning Johnson-Rubell is close with Gipson.
