I'll add this:Good post and also good point by SHA. I'll add one thing. Within the top 20 kids in the state, there may be plenty of reasons why the staff would not pursue. Culture fit, scheme fit, academics, work ethic, off the field issues, mainly interested in NIL, player may simply not like UT, baseball prospects, etc.. Rankings are a good guideline, but not the only factor to consider.
Go look at the top 20 players in Texas and where they are committed. Texas A&M will probably end up "running the state" this year by having 3 of the top 20. No one college is collecting a majority of their commitments.
